Project Appleseed

          As always, I'm humbled by the character and perseverance of Americans that show up at Appleseed.  We had an attentive group of students that were eager to learn and quick to assimilate each point of instruction. Although we had no riflemen this weekend, we had several shooting in the 180-190 range.  I'm sure we will see them at future Seed's.
   The dedication of the instructor corps was evident throughout the weekend with kudos' going to Jimi for cooking up some ships biscuits to demonstrate the fare of the British soldiers during the telling of the "Three Strikes".  We didn't know if we should eat it or use it for body armor.  No wonder there were so many deserters.  While Jimi may be the king of the visual demonstration, SamD is a master of our oral history.  His rendition of the Aftermath and wrapping up the Dangerous Old Men segment was nothing short of inspirational.  He had me ready to re-up for another 20. 
   Thanks to all who showed up and thanks to those that work behind the scenes to make Appleseed possible.

Congrats to OL on getting his Red Hat 

I forwarded the shoot pictures to Milt and OL as well as others. Still cant get pics posted to the AARs, a computer tech thing for me. If I could "shoot" them on then ok, but that gets rough on monitors. mJust had to much fun as always. Looking forward to ROW next month and maybe some new surprises as visual aids.

Good job on the pics! Thanks to everyone. Saw lots of determination by great Americans. We had shooters from 14 to 75. I hope I can make good use of the red hat! ....O.L.

Another great shoot and I was so proud of Dorothy who at 70 something, picked up a rifle for the first time on Saturday and began putting some very effective rounds down range by the end of the first day.  She hung in there through Sunday and I have no doubt she can achieve her Rifleman's patch!  It was great to see the "A Riflemen persists" motto in action and look forward to seeing some great American's achieving their goals in all walks of life.  I was also proud to see our military members, active and retired, stepping up to continue their outstanding service to our country.   I'd like to thank Milt and Sam, our senior instructors and shoot boss for leading by example and providing outstanding support for trainees to continue the highest standards for quality instruction that make Appleseed such a winning program, even when a certain instructor has a total brain freeze!   It was my pleasure to contribute a bit of left handed humor!

Looks like a great time! I come back to see my folks and would like to know when the next event is. I can attend as an IIT or shooter. Someone let me know when the next one occurs.
