If this is old news, sorry for repeating it.  Maybe some folks haven't seen it before and can benefit from some of the info.  I got this off the M14 FLPF in a response to a question I had.

"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Good stuff, folks, lots of Garand Guys (and ladies) here, and that includes me. Best Battle rifle ever made. I like mine more than my M14.
They have men amongst them who know very well what they are about, having been employed as Rangers against the Indians and Canadians and this country being much covered with wood, and hilly, is very advantageous for their method of fighting. . . . ".  Lord Percy

Sounds like New Englanders to me.

M1A4ME--Thanks for that site. Great info. Nickle, I like the Garand too. Amazing to me that most of these CMP rifles, 60+ years old, will still shoot 4-5 MOA or better and function perfectly!
