Well, this was probably some of the best weather California has to offer. And with 20 dedicated Appleseeders on the line both Saturday and Sunday, it turned out to be a weekend of true dedication and a display of persistence and determination I have not seen at an Appleseed in awhile. This was a great crowd of Americans. A lot of great attitude, fun and just overall, one really good Appleseed.

We had one riflewoman, Kristen, shot a 216.  ^:)^ :) She was knocking at the door the entire time. Listened intently to the instruction and pulled it off. There with her husband (who we expect to see shooting next time?  :cool2: ) and her two children, Ashley and Hunter, she pulled it off.
Ashley and Hunter, they showed some true spirit, sticking it out.  Awarded the Luther Blanchard Patch for their persistence throughout the weekend. We got some future riflemen and women in this group.

Marpat Pippi and Marpat Wittimore both gave one of the best history presentations I have seen on Saturday and Sunday. They completed their requirements for Red Hat and were awarded the Red Hats on Sunday. This group seemed to listen to the history. It also seemed to hit home a bit.

We had the honor of having Terri and Inice with us. They are with the Central Coast Freedom Fighters. We seem to share some very similar ideas and I hope to see more Freedom Fighters at future Appleseeds. These fine ladies were true patriots!!!

We had Roark and his dad Jim returning from an AS  at PIRU. Some fellow Calgunners, Jimmy, James and Kal, also UCSB students. These guys were all shooting really well. Just one small hump to get over and the coveted Rifleman patch is yours.

Josh, Jim H. and Mark H. improved considerably throughout this weekend. I can see some riflemen in the near future here. I mean really, everyone was there, scoring in what seemed to be the 150-200. I think the heat of Sunday afternoon took it's toll. There is probably one little step or SHF to work on and most all the shooters at this event will be over the hump. Practice at home all!!!

On the AR's down at the end, Kim, Shane and Mike all shot in good form. Also really near the rifleman score there. I think one more AS and they will all have 210's and higher. Kim shot a near perfect (96) on the fourth stage!!!! Nice. Shane was in the 200's.
One thing I noticed is the groups standing were probably the tightest I have seen in awhile.

I will try to get some pics up after work tonight. In the meantime I know some others have pics also.

I was pretty impressed with this group of patriots that came out this weekend to learn their heritage. Pretty impressed indeed!!.  :) O0

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

Here's a few more pics. My dad and I had a great time (it was his birthday.)  He's a long-time member of the Winchester range there, but still learned a lot--both about rifleman technique as well as history.

It was a great weekend and an honor to be there among so many Patriots! Congratulations to the Kristen, Hunter and Ashley, and a special thanks to Dad for bringing them all out! I am looking forward to seeing some of you again at the shoot in San Luis Obispo in September. Kim if you are there I am sure you will shoot Rifleman. The 2x4 shoot was awesome congratulations to the Middle Team on the win! Great shooting to all hope to see you on the trail soon.

Thanks for the pics!

It was a great weekend...so nice to meet all these wonderful people.

We definitely have a lot of budding riflemen and women... and hopefully some future instructors too!

Thanks everyone for the continued instruction and support.  Looking forward to our next opportunity to try again.

And... umm... anyone else taken by that view coming down from WCGC?   4 of the Channel Islands in view.  That isn't something you see every day.

Nick & Pipi, congrats on your red-hats.  You definitely deserve them.

I want to thank the shooting team first and foremost!  You guys rock and showed the patience of a monk on valium.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself (frustration aside   !@#))  and I realize today, that I hurt in places I didn't realize I had places.  Pippi, Nick, Dano, Jacques, Debbie - you all were EXCELLENT instructors and story tellers of our heritage.  I will tell many people about Appleseed and encourage some to go to San Luis Obispo with me.  I'm not going to be denied.  There were a lot of wonderful people at the shoot.  It's good to know we have so many patriots who love our country!

Shawn and Mike, my fellow AR shooters, you guys were great.  Mike, thanks for the sling loan and Shawn, thanks for your great company.

FreedomRallier

What a great experience!  All of you instructors were so professional, kind, and extremely patient ... especially with those of us who were new comers.  We had no idea what to expect.  It was challenging and exhilarating!  I plan to attend the next Appleseed in November...with my own rifle and many hours of practice behind me. The history of the Revolutionary War was great!  Debbie, thanks for the loan of your gun and sling.  Thanks to all of you for what you are doing to help Wake Up America!

I forgot to mention I came up with an extra pair of binoculars that no one claimed after the shoot. If they are yours let me know and I can send them to you.
