Yet another great weekend on a Wisconsin firing line!

This was Lodi, WI's second Appleseed this year, and I must say that it was a warm one!  Good though, in all the right ways.  Everything from that distinctive smell of gunpowder first thing on Saturday AM to the very considerate volunteers who helped us take down the target Sunday evening spoke to the strength and excellence of America. As is usual, I find myself humbled at the end of the weekend simply by the people I've met.

Let's see now...  One Rifleman, Eric, with a 220.  Two youth patches, one for Ben and one for Seth.  There's one for Jared, too, who scored a personal best this weekend in between baseball games, I think!

Pictures and more commentary follow after dinner and a shower, or even tomorrow morning...

Thanks to the Winneqah Gun Club for use of their excellent smallbore range.  Thanks to the instructors who gave up their weekend to make this event happen.  And finally, thanks to all of you who came out to shoot.  It is one of life's genuine pleasures to have spent the weekend with you.

First off, meet Seth!  Seth is the son of our favorite Brit, who got his patch at Lodi last October.  The interesting thing about this photo is that it is a transition to sitting and Seth is almost in position before the rest of the line even began to move!

And here we have Scott and Dan, who anchored the right side of the firing line with their ARs.  I want you to know that it took a lot simply to pick up the ARs after they sat in the sun for few minutes!

And here's Ben, a most intense young man with a CZ-452.  Note also that he has an orange boonie cap...there's many an instructor-in-training who'd love to have one of those!

More follow...chime in with your stories and pictures!

And here's Josh.  We liked his attitude all weekend:

I have never been this sore and had that much fun. Thanks to all

Lodi continues to produce Riflemen!  Great job, Eric the Viking!  Lots of others knocking on the door of a 210, now filled with the knowledge of both the Rifleman's skills and heritage.

See you on the trail. O0

I had a wonderful time in Lodi this weekend. Even though the weather was quite warm, I continued to see smiles and determination on all the shooters' faces.
Congratulations to Eric on a 220! I can't wait to see an Orange Hat on you!!!

Congratulations Eric, and welcome to the forum.

Having an opportunity to be the student this weekend was rewarding.  One of the things that sticks in my mind most was something Mogget said about our country being founded on sacrifice and love; while other countries have been founded by kings and those seeking power.  She demanded we stop looking at her, and start looking around at this beautiful country.   What an inheritance!

Makes me think about what makes American strong.  Individuals who are willing to make tough choices, and some sacrifices.  Something that Rifleman live up to.

Meeting new Appleseeders this weekend bolsters hope.  Hope that a few more Americans honor and remember our American Heritage.  And are willing to help preserve it.

I'll be interested to hear what ya'll are thinking this week.

p.s.  I made it through Sat and Sun without the effects of dehydration, but Monday morning I only had coffee to drink and at 10:00 a.m. I had a headache, felt weak, and could not think straight at work.   Next hot Appleseed I will continue to force fluids through Sunday night and Monday morning.

"Folks, this Appleseed thing doesn't work if we get a patch and go home. It doesn't work if we shoot a Rifleman score and remember the good times we had out on the range. It only works if we take that 7th Step and spread the 'seed. HUZZAH!!!"  Slim
