It's early Sun am and IM getting ready for another great AS day  O0
Sat went really well and the staff and attendee's (future Rifleman) were the such to make our founders proud.
Congratulations to a new RIFLEMAN who surpassed 210 during the "After Hours" portion of AS.
Special thanx to LLP for securing the longer target line + for his help dealing with range personal O0
Well off to honor the great men and woman who secured our liberty's .

It was great to meet everyone! This was my first AppleSeed, but will not be my last! I was very pleased, and extremely proud to achieve the status of 'Rifleman' with my score of 225.

This was a great event, with a great bunch of people. The instructor staff was top-notch. I've been shooting for most of my life, and I've been in the military (Navy) for 12 years now, and never realized how much I didn't know! That old-school sling work is where it's at! I didn't use the GI Web sling at all on Saturday, and was only able to score a 167. On Sunday, I put away my pride, picked up a GI Web sling, made a couple of adjustments, and I was able to become a 'Rifleman'.

I look forward to starting down the path to becoming a "Red Hat".

Thanks again to the great group of instructors!

This was my first Appleseed after hearing about it from Calguns.net (everybody loves AS over there).  Both days were filled with honest and friendly folks from all walks of life that make me proud to be a fellow American.  Saturday I cleared the Redcoat target, but could not muster the focus for the after hours AQT.  Sunday morning could not come any sooner, as I was bright eyed and bushy tailed.  I am happy to report that I achieved Rifleman status with a score of 215.  As JohnnyAppleseed always iterates, being a Rifleman is a journey, and so I too look forward to wearing that Red Hat one day.

I must send a huge Thank You to all of you involved with Project Appleseed.  If it weren't for your contributions to protecting our 2nd Amendment right, I feel we Californians would have lost them long ago!

I'm tired, sore, sunburned, dirty, -- and a much better rifle shooter.   My thanks to JohnnyAppleseed, DoubleD, CSHR, Moe, noeMoe, and the other Red and Orange Hats for their excellent training and inspiring historical lessons.

It was a great class, with the best instructors, tremendous fellow students, and the World's coolest Wolf/Husky.

I didn't make Rifleman, heck, I wasn't within smelling distance, but thanks to the above Gentlemen and women, I know what I need to do!

My thanks again to all!

Mr. Ard

Had a great time at my first Appleseed. With lots of help from Double D and the rest of the folks out there, I now suck a lot less than I did when I showed up Saturday morning. As a matter of fact, my shooting improved noticeably in that first hour on Saturday.  O0

I was originally supposed to go with three other guys, but by the time they went to make their reservation, it was sold out. I'm tired, sore, dirty, sunburned and a few burns from my neighbor's shell casings, all in all it was a great time!

GMoney

Thanks for a great first Appleseed. I am registered for Dulzura in October where I will earn my 'Rifleman' status.

I appreciate that the bar is set pretty high for 'Rifleman', if it was easier to attain it would mean a lot less.

I will be spreading the word around the waterfront, Take it easy..

P.S. Special thanks to Johnnyappleseed and Double D, you really inspired me with your passion this past weekend.

We are working on the actual stats for the shoot, and will have them ASAP  ;)
However I first must say, that it was my honor to work with all of you at the Appleseed. What a great time and true pleasure to be there with you !!
We hope that you had a good time as well, but of more importance, became motivated to learn about your country and what makes it so great.
I look forward to spending time with all of you in the future as you continue your road to Rifleman.

This was my first AS. Thanks to all who put this together to make this a positive experience for those of us who had never been to an AS before. I don't like to recommend anything to anyone until I've experienced it myself. After experiencing this AS, I can hardly wait to get back to work to start the word-of-mouth recommendations!

I've seen photos of people using slings and trying different shooting positions on the web and in print, but there's no substitute for someone actually showing me how to do it. It made all the difference in the world! Now the mystery of proper sling use and proper shooting positions is gone and I'm a much better shooter for it! That kind of instruction is what I was hoping to get for the money I paid and it was well worth it... and achieving Rifleman status at the end of the day on Saturday was a surprising bonus! I can honestly say I would not have been able to do it without implementing the techniques taught to us by the great AS volunteers! Great experience!

To all the folks who braved the warm Corona Weather with us, my hat is off to you. What a great event and what a group of outstnading isntructors. Glad to have been a part of it and looking forward to the next one. My daughter G-sizzle/Gillian had a blast and is already looking forward to her next AS. I too had a great time re-introducing myself with with marksmanship fundamentals after nearly 10 years away from the range. I hope to be a red-hat somday and know I will achieve that goal because of the great and encouraging Americans like ALL OF YOU who motivate the heck out of me. Looking forward to seeing you in August at the Corona AS (you thought it was hot in June..ha ha).

Had a great time at my first Appleseed and I look forward to many more. Learned a lot, I will definitely need to practice what I learned. It was a bit humbling to be honest.  :o

The event was well organized and I had no doubts about my safety.  @&)

My son and I have shot together for years and now that he's home from college for the summer, we thought Appleseed would be a good experience for both of us.   IT DEFINITELY WAS....we had a great time!!  Learned a lot about shooting and the history of our country.  Heartfelt thanks to all the instructors - Johnny Appleseed, CHSR, Double D, Moe & all the rest.  You guys are great!  Didn't qualify with my Golden Mountie but determined to do so at the Glenn Helen shoot next month.  On the ride home, I asked my son what he thought about the program and the instructors.  His response was "noble men doing noble work".  Couldn't agree more. Thanks again.

We had our 1st Rifleman during after hours AQT sat.

To all the guys (and gals!!) who proved they can "stand a bit of sunshine".......(although I'm still not sure why JA needed a flashlight on his "belt kit"........perhaps bore checking or something.... **) **) **)...), you guys did an awesome job!! O0 O0 O0

I was only able to "stop in" for a bit early Sat am to help get things set up & range details unraveled, but as usual, the folks @ Mike Raahaughes Shooting Park make stuff happen....we can't thank them enough......

But I saw what looked like a really promising group of Americans there, and they did not disappoint......

Even if you didn't get "your score", keep practicing.....I was one of the worst when it came to breaking old "bad habits" to be able to shoot the way I really wanted to, you can do the same, and become an even more awesome shot...... O0  O0

One thing to mention here, is that because our "new line" was in San Bernardino County, instead of Riverside County, and the girls were in Glen Helen (also in San Bernardino Cty), we had our first "concurrent county shoot" in the history of AS.....(as far as I know)....perhaps someone who has been here longer might offer some form of correction if I am mistaken, but I really don't think so....... >:D :cool2: :o ..:..

Great job, folks, you all did awesome, and I look forward to working with you in the near future.....

Old Glory!

What do CA and WI have in common?

On June 26-27 both CA and WI had TWO concurrent Appleseeds.  There were 24 Appleseeds in 21 States in one weekend.  :o  Pretty impressive for a young program like Appleseed; but of course, there are 50 States and we can and should always do more.

It is great to look at the AAR's and see the difference in landscapes across this great country, but to know we all have the same purpose and mission; to honor and remember our American Heritage, and to reawaken that responsibility that we owe our founders to preserve it.  It is good to see these images of  Americans across the country, practicing marksmanship, and thinking about what it means to have the heart and mind of an American and a Rifleman.

Thanks to every one of you for participating in Appleseed.

This was my first one too, quite a bit of fun and educational.  For fun, here are the first and last courses of fire from the weekend, its pretty obvious to see the improvement:

Best score on the AQT was a 167, up from mid 20s at the beginning of the course.  Probably another one or two shoots to get the magic 210.  I bought a 22 today with a normal magazine release, I hope that helps me get all ten shots off in the 2nd and 3rd stages.

Johnnyappleseed

Jamminj quite an improvement  O0
We mentioned ,but did not stress the imporartance of dry fire ---( with 6 steps + steady hold factors ). If you  dry fire -good chance you make it next time.
We shoot often at a public range , feel free to PM me ,if you want to shoot with us at a public range. We enjoy exposing other shooters to someone working on the Rifleman score.  The AQTs build interest in AS . In fact SS practiced AQTS between AS . OOPs her secret is out ~~:)

This event had 41 persons on sat and 37 on sun -- unofficially at this point .
Thanx for all the kind words expressed by all .

Congratulations to all the new Riflemen and IITs. For those of you still seeking the elusive 210, I can pretty well guarantee another Appleseed or two will get you there. Repeat Appleseeds are good for the patriot's soul anyway. Every Appleseed I attend reinforces my passion for liberty, my love for the country our forefathers won for us, and a renewed respect for my fellow Americans. Laylo and others often talk about AS bringing out the cream of the crop. I am constantly reminded of that fact at every Appleseed. I was glad to have gotten to spend my weekend with all of you.

My first AS and I had a great time and learned a lot.  First let me thank all the instructors for donating their time and expertise in making this shoot an outstanding experience.  Thanks JohnnyAppleseed, DoubleD, CSHR, Moe, Freeman and Nemoe.  You folks rock.   O0  Special thanks to JA and DoubleD for working with me to correct and improve my marksmanship and help me to achieve riflemen rank on Sunday.

We had a great bunch of folks come out for the shoot.  Everyone was friendly and helpful.  I only wish that I had more time to get to know the people who came to the shoot.  One thing that stuck out for me was the stories of the revolution.  The stories made the people of that time come alive unlike any book or classroom has ever done for me.  I hope to make one more shoot before I go back to school in the fall.

Untill next time...
