Great to have Appleseed back in the Garden State!

It was a very blustery day - the only casualty was a pop up tent - ripped it right out of the ground stakes and all just as we were doing the morning safety briefing.

13 shooters came out and soaked up the instruction and the heritage.

No new riflemen yet - Mark had a 210 on a RFAQT with his M1A, but didn't make the time - Bob is knocking on the door as well.

Lots of improvements!

Hi Frank,

Unfortunately a small family matter came up and prevented my sister and I from coming from today.

Thank you and Mike for setting this up, my sister learned a lot and greatly improved her shooting skills.  I will be purchasing a new rear sight for my rifle and looking forward to future appleseed in NJ.

Sunday report
The blustery winds continued and so did the instruction and heritage!

3 new Riflemen and 1 new Instructor in Training!!!

Joe - a new shooter who came on Sunday (it was his 2nd Appleseed) was the first to make Rifleman score with a 216 using his Ruger 10-22!
Mark, who was oh-so-close yesterday finally broke through with a 210 using his M1A.
And after we shot the final redcoat - we did one more RFAQT and Bob made it with the high score of the day 221!

Joe (the Rifleman) stepped up to become an Instructor in Training - Way to go Joe!

Sorry I missed the NJ shoot but we had the same wind in PA although I don't think it was quite as bad because our tent survived. Congratulations to the new rifleman and to Joe for stepping up. Looks like a great start for the Garden State.

Mac,
Bob, the owner of the club really appreciated how Appleseed works.  He complimented us for the condition of the range on Saturday night after we left - he greatly appreciated that we looked after his property and left it better than we found it.  He's open to holding more Appleseeds there.

My wife and I had a great time at the Appleseed shoot in NJ.  We hope and plan to attend again in the future. (if not in NJ, then we will make the trip to the closest PA site).
Thank you Frank and Mike for the excellent instruction and considerable patience.

It's GREAT to see another shoot in NJ!!  ^:)^ Even better to see that there are more Riflemen in NJ now, too.

How goes the search for more ranges in NJ?
Unhappy it is ... to reflect that a brother's sword has been sheathed in a brother's breast, and that the once happy and peaceful plains of America are either to be drenched with blood or inhabited by slaves. Sad alternative! But can a virtuous man hesitate in his choice?

Hi Frank,

I had a great time and learned a lot. I had no idea of how the shoot a rifle before this. I now feel I have a foundation to practice on and build some skill. Hopefully in the future I will be at another event with so you and Mike can see what you pass on.

Thanks again for you dedication to the shooting sports. :)

I'm glad that Joe took the Orange hat. He was at last July's Appleseed and I was impressed by his shooting and determination. I believe that he had some leg points as well. Hopefully that Distinguished badge is in the offing.
