Project Appleseed

 



Calling all hat wearers, calling all hat wearers. Red hats, green hats, orange hats, blue hats, silver hats, tall hats, skinny hats, little hats with propellers on them. Whatever hat you have, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Can everyone take maybe two hours each weekend for the next three weeks and put up some fliers, pass out some fliers, tell your neighbors, friends, family, church/worship group, the guys you drink coffee with down at the local diner, WHOMEVER and try to get some fliers in their hands?
I should be getting a gigantic box of SWATs and dillons any day now, so if you need some let me know.

Were under a crunch here folks. We have an AS in Farmington next weekend, the Socorro AS on the 27 and 28th, Las Cruses on 4/10-11, and of course the 800lb gorilla in the room April 17-18th in the three R's. Raton, Rio Rancho and Roswell!

So where are we at with these shoots? Well as of right now we have the following

So pick up a bucket folks! We cannot wake up a nation if we don't get the opportunity to tell them what it means to be an American. And we cannot make Riflemen without them coming and learning the FUNDAMENTALS of Rifle marksmanship AND learning our heritage. Do you fellow countrymen a favor and invite them to an Appleseed!  

I'll be in and out of town until after the Socorro shoot so if you need promo material CALL ME! We can try and figure out a way to get some SWATs and dillons to you.

It is simply amazing how fast the New Mexico Appleseed Project has expanded. 
We have tripled the number of shoots and there is no sign of letting up.

Yup, it's time to red line the promo machine and get moving.
We also just received a fresh re-supply of Dillon's/SWAT's for use.
PM us if you are down here in our area and we can meet FTF to give you some or possibly ship.

Supposedly had a boyscout troop that was going to register. Not sure what happened!

I spoke with Adam Kokesh, Marine running for Congress: http://kokeshforcongress.com/, last night.

I mentioned the Appleseed Organization and he has heard of us. I also twisted his arm a little and pushed towards him making the Farmington Shoot. Unfortunately he could not. BUT HE IS INTERESTED!

Someone (who has actually shot an event I.E. not me) needs to contact him and get a schedule of events to him ASAP so he can hopefully attend and even participate.

Let me know where I can get some flyers and I'mm put some up around the Engineering/Science part of campus. I'm thinking that the bus stop for the South parking lot is a prime place to stick them up at.

Who do I see about getting some flyers?

I talked to him twice last year and he promised to come to Raton, but then never made it.  He says that running for political office is taking all of his time, so I doubt we will get him to come before the November elections.  (He probably would have come if I let him campaign, but I could not let that happen.)

We had a very positive response from the troops at WSMR this past week.  So far, about a dozen have shown interest in coming to our early April LC Appleseed and trying again for that elusive patch.  I suspect they will have a much easier time of it when they don't have to wear body armor and helmets!  It was a privilege to work with them, and we all felt we did a good deed helping them develop their skills. We did not expect that the troops would be a source of Appleseed growth, but a great many showed a lot of interest in following up of what we had taught. I suspect this will help percolate into growing support for Appleseed across the country as they tell their family and friends about us.

Today, while doing promo in Deming for their Mother's Day Shoot shoot we talked to a woman who runs a camp for kids, early teens who is wanting to start a shooting program.
She is also part of a local Wounded Warrior project in this area.

     Which ties right in with the upcoming announcement of the "Adaptive Appleseed" program.

     PS: Looking forward to the fallout of the WSMR on attendance at the April LC AS...
