Looking to take my son to the next Marana shoot and wondering if this board was active :F
Taking my son up there also. See you in a couple of weeks.
Depends on what you mean by action... Although Appleseed is active in Arizona, there's usually not much in the way of online discussion on this forum, as you can see. It tends to serve more as a "general Arizona announcement" and "get answers to your questions" area rather than the typical discussion forum - although discussion is certainly not discouraged, there just isn't much going on.
I'll confess that I don't check in on the forum very regulatory. But I do check in and see if someone has something to say in Arizona.
Looks like the next Marana event is the 27'th. I'm sure both of you will have a great time. Debra is a great instructor.
Did you have any specific questions we can help you with?
I got us a couple 10/22s, mags, slings, ammo, shooting mats, and chamber flags. Will bring water, camp chairs, binoculars and spotting scope and lots of ammo. Anything else I'm forgetting? Didn't get a chance to order tech sights so we'll be running stock irons. I've been sitting all my life but never formally trained, I'm looking forward to learning new stuff and wanting my son to learn properly while young lol.
Looks like a good list. Was there lunch and maybe snacks in there? It's a real treat to circle up, eat a good lunch, and listen to good stories about our history.
Check the weather before hand of course. But, I usually tell my shooters to bring a few extra layers just in case. The about the only weather that stops us is lighting. Plan to spend some time exposed. Long sleeves can sometimes be very welcome when shooting a lot of prone, even with a mat. Sunscreen is always an important layer in AZ!
But most important thing to bring is a positive teachable attitude! If you do you're going to have a good time and will learn a few new things. I know I do every time, even as an instructor.

I replied to your post on RFC. We are glad you joined our board. I wish you and your son the best.
Which one was that? Are you in AZ?
I'm in Tennessee. It was the post that you were asking if the stock sights were okay on Ruger 10/22's. I said they were pretty bad, but I admired your attitude regarding teaching your son how to shoot irons before a scope.
