The USSA Range Talkeetna Family Fun Day is July 21.
Project Appleseed Alaska has become one of the main displays for this event.
We always get at least five sign ups for the Talkeetna Marksmanship Clinic because of our display.
This year we will have the same place to set up our display. The far covered line at the 200 yd range.
The flag display and an AS brochure and info table are great draws to the display.
Set up is at 1000. Folks will be able to participate at 1300 and close will be at 1700.
Scott will be running the display.
Past events we set up three bench shooting stations with Ruger 10/22s with at least one scoped rifle. Because we often have folks / kids that have never handled a firearm before it is best to have an instructor with each participant.
Participants shoot at redcoat targets set up at 25 yds / meters.
Some form of swag is given to anyone that clears the redcoat. In the past that has been an AS tee shirt. (That will depend on what tee shirts Scott has available).
This is always a fun event.
I should be able to make it
I'll be there.
Excellent, a crew of 3-5 sounds optimal. Bill gave me a very good brief on what to expect. Plan on a 1000L set up and a 1700L breakdown. We'll run 3 .22's and offer shirts for clearing a Redcoats target after a few "sighter" rounds, with HEAVY emphasis on sign ups for 28/29 July. PM me for any additional details.
