Title: Neglecting our Heritage is Evidently Not a New Phenomenon
Post by: V on December 20, 2014, 01:18:08 PM
Post this here as there doesn't seem to be any boards which are writable, not scheduled for destruction.

Interesting and long article (http://www.city-journal.org/2014/24_4_urb-mount-vernon-monticello.html).

In the revamp it would be nice if there was a general postable/readable history board, equally prominent to the "Road to Rifleman".

We are supposed to be equally Marksmanship and Heritage yet the disucussions of history and stories are relegated to a history  subboard on the instructor boards which most IITs and visitors cannot see.

You can post it on the History Board on the Libertyseed forum.

What a wonderful article! Very eye opening about indifference toward our heritage, throughout the years of trying to preserve the estate. I was especially shocked at the attempt to put a sewage plant across the Potomac, in the 1950s. Seemed like they should have known better by then.
