Hello all,

I was contacted a while back by a lady from the Appalachian Home Educators Conference. They want Appleseed to be at their conference in Pigeon Forge, TN on the 27th and 28th of this month. She has agreed to comp us a booth in the exhibit hall in exchange for some history presentation and some sort of hands-on instruction for kids under their outdoor venue. I stuck my neck out and told her we'd be there. HELP!  ;D

Seriously, this is a great opportunity, especially with several events scheduled for the new range just up the road at Wears Valley Ranch. This is very new for me, so any help manning this thing, ideas, etc would be greatly appreciated.

As I said in the original post, I was contacted by someone from the Appalachian Home Educators Conference, which is taking place on the 27th and 28th of this month in Pigeon Forge, TN at the Music Road Convention Center. This is a pretty big convention. Probably the biggest home school conference in East Tennessee and its just up the road from the new range we're working with at Wears Valley Ranch. They have comped us an exhibit booth in exchange for some history presentation on Friday and a presentation for the kids at their Outdoor Adventure Tent on Saturday. Tncolonel is working on getting The Light Company, which is a Revolutionary War re-enactment group to help us with their presence, but that's still very tentative. This is my first attempt at this sort of thing, so I'm open to whatever help, suggestions, ideas, etc I can get, especially ideas for the Outdoor Adventure Tent. The only thing I can really think of is to have several rifle stocks & slings and let the kids come thru and give them a few minutes of prone instruction *maybe* with a laser so they could see what they were doing.

As of now, it will just be me and my two teen sons who are IITs working it. If anyone can come over and help or give us some ideas, we would appreciate it!

The website for the conference is http://www.appalachianhomeeducators.com/

If anyone would like to contact me directly my number is 423-903-8826
