The CRPA is having their big 134th Annual Fundraising Gala on Saturday, February 27, 2010 - 6:00pm at the Hilton Hotel Irvine/Orange County Airport located at 18800 MacArthur Blvd, Irvine, CA 92612. The cost is $89 per seat, which includes parking, a delicious three course meal, entertainment, keynote speakers and the presentation of awards to Outstanding Peace Officer, Senator, and Assembly Member, participation in the live auction, a ticket for the DOOR PRIZES, and entries to their March 1, 2009 Sweepstakes. . If we can fill up a table....that's ten seats....we can get a display table in the foyer to promote CA Appleseed events for the coming year. CRPA has also agreed to post our event dates on their website and on a monthly basis in their newsletter. Among the speakers will be Michael Reagan, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, Founder and director of the Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, and Steven P. Halbrook, PhD, Author of The Founders' Second Amendment: Origins of the Right to Bear Arms. If you are interested, let me know asap! It would be nice to see some of the NorCal folks at this one. Wow,
Don't get between Camljr and a dead cow, he's fast...
But I can't fault his good taste...
Put me and Alison down for two dead cow specials as well :) Pull the horns and hooves off, wipe its ****, and slap it on the plate... (gotta watch my carbon footprint on the grill) :D
I don't think the NRA is going to be ready for this many rednecks in California.

Heh! Here to represent the "Inland Empire of Rednecks", I too cast my vote for the dead cow (or not, I'm not too picky...)(If it moos when I stab it, that's ok.....) >:D
NRA should know what kind of crusty, starchy individuals are left holding down the fort here...... ..:..

Hey Folks. There is still time to get a ticket for this occasion.
I am working on bringing a surprise guest. You will not be disappointed if you come out and see who I am trying to get to join us (unless you think I mean Fred, then I'm sorry, I am not working on him... maybe I should work on him too...) ^-^
This event is a lot of fun. There are prizes just for showing up. There are also Raffle Tickets that you can buy. Don't miss out. Get ahold of Bob and get those tickets. Don't think that you can't come if there is only one of you either. LLP is coming solo, and we will all be together at the tables.

It is confirmed. There will be a surprise guest attending the CRPA gala.
There is still time to get tickets for this event.
Anyone know where we are at? I know we have two tables started.
The last I heard, we will be joined by MrBill, Rock-Chucker, Scavenger and Recruiter! And.......they will be giving away Appleseed Free Certificates as door prizes!
Great!! What about Liz and Lixian?
Anyone know if we have two full tables or are still 3 people shy of it?
By my count we have
Bob
Rod and Jules
Cam and Lisa
Phil and Alison
Ian
Randy and Jackie
Justin and Liz
Bill
Steve
Richard, Cindy and Guest
Anyone else?
I talked to CRPA last week and the tables are full. We will have 3 CRPA Board members sharing one of our tables. That will be a great opportunity to get the word out to them. As far as supplies for the Appleseed table at this event, this is what I've got so far:
Bob 210 I'm bringing fliers in SWAT reprints of upcoming March Appleseeds
V Bringing the new trifold CA Appleseed brochures
Savageshootr Bringing Full sized Appleseed SWAT Poster
Laylopro Bringing Dillon Articles
Camljr Could you bring your Brown Bess for display?
Any other ideas of items to bring?
I received the tickets I ordered in the mail last week. I will distribute them at the event.
I can bring a couple of inches of the Dillon one page reprint.....

Yes, bring them.....thanks.
I have a few (3) holders I can bring for the literature.
I wouldn't imagine that we would want the display rack that ASminuteman made... If you do, I have one and will bring it along. Just let me know.
Camljr Could you bring your Brown Bess for display?
I suppose I can do that...
Bob,
how about some fliers for our April/May shoots as well? The Irvine bunch is historically the group that will do Corona (possibly WEGC) and Escondido as well....
Might as well let 'em know where we're gonna be.....

Good idea! I made up special fliers that list all the CA April 17-18 weekend Appleseeds.
You rock, Bob!! ..:.. O0
That's why "You da man!!" O0 O0 O0
Ok, does anybody need any supplies that I can bring to the CRPA dinner? I have Rifleman rockers and Oval patches (these will have to be purchased $5/ea). Sorry, no Orange hats have come in yet. LLP, I will be bringing you a supply box. Anybody else?
Sorry, no Orange hats have come in yet.
Dang....
I think I have like one left......Maybe DragonWood might have some she could bring out in March?
Really, we -should- have some before the 4/18/10, don't you think? I sure hope so......
We've got folks that wanna get on board without a MI bypass......
I'm looking forward to this dinner....BTW, folks that are there, watch how this dinner is run, and ask yourself, if in a year or so, we couldn't do the same sort of thing by ourselves, for raising money for AS stuff here in Cali......
It's more than a thought, it's something we need to be doing soon....

It was a wonderful experience for BaldDragn and I to be able to attend the Gala. It was worth the price of admission to see Camljr in a tux and BaldDragn in a suit. Oh, the joy! I got to see some of the best California has to offer in Appleseed. I also got to haul a gazillion rather smelly fliers ( you were right V, they do have an odor) that are sensational. These fliers rock! Tri-fold and slick looking. I am in the process of distributing them this weekend. I have a few pics of the Gala. Anyone have some to post?

Ka-LAKK! (Camera being downloaded to web......)
I'm so sorry!! Did somebody say they wanted -PICTURES-!! **) ^:)^ **)
I think I have a few of those O0....(And some that will be used for future blackmail of "higher ranking folks", on an as needed basis!) :))
I like these pix.....we all had a real good time, and it was well worth the educational portion as well......
Enjoy!!
