Safety Notice:

Rifles must be cased and left in vehicle until after the Safety Briefing. Do Not bring your firearms out until instructed to bring them to the firing line. No loaded firearms on the range unless on the firing line and load command has been given. Eye and ear protection required. No illegal firearms are allowed. Some ranges are .22 rimfire only. At ranges that allow centerfire no rifle cartridges over 8mm cal are allowed.

The closest town to the Sherburne Ranges that can be goggled for directions is Krotz Springs, Louisiana. The Headquarters Building is about 5 minutes south of Krotz Springs on LA Hwy 975.

 

From the North

 

Take Interstate I – 49 South towards Opelousas to Hwy US – 190 East. Take a left onto US – 190 East, traveling towards Baton Rouge. Pass through the town of Krotz Springs and across the Atchafalaya River Bridge. Immediately after crossing the Atchafalaya River Bridge, take a right onto the LA Hwy 975 off ramp. Then turn left onto Hwy 975 South, heading South towards I- 10, and travel on a gravel road 3 miles following along the level. The Headquarters’ Building will be on the left. The address is 1132 Sherburne Road. There are 5 shooting ranges around the Headquarters area.

 

From the South

 

Take Interstate I – 49 North towards Opelousas to Hwy US – 190 East. Take a right onto US – 190 East, traveling towards Baton Rouge. Take Interstate I – 10 West towards Baton Rouge, cross the Mississippi River Bridge. Take a right onto Exit 151 (Lobdell Exit), turn right onto SR – 415 and head North to Hwy US – 190 West. Take a left onto Hwy US – 190 head West towards Krotz Springs, travel 31 miles on US – 190. Do not cross the Atchafalaya River Bridge! Right before the bridge take a right onto the LA – 975 off ramp. Then turn left onto Hwy 975 South, heading South towards I- 10, and travel on a gravel road 3 miles following along the level. The Headquarters’ Building will be on the left. The address is 1132 Sherburne Road. There are 5 shooting ranges around the Headquarters area.

Campgrounds are located on site next to range with room for campers. No electricity, some running water hookups. Campsites are first come first served and must follow LDWF WMA requirements.
