Safety Notice:

Rifles must be cased and left in vehicle until after the Safety Briefing. Do Not bring your firearms out until instructed to bring them to the firing line. No loaded firearms on the range unless on the firing line and load command has been given. Eye and ear protection required. No illegal firearms are allowed. Some ranges are .22 rimfire only. At ranges that allow centerfire no rifle cartridges over 8mm cal are allowed.

Range Fee: $10 per non-member shooter paid to Mill Creek Rifle Club on site. Cash is fine.

No camping available at the range.

There are many within a 20 minute drive from the range. Both in Lawrence, KS and Overland Park, KS.

For regular Appleseeds we are using Range 5 on the northwest corner of the range.

For KD events we are using the High Power Range. When you come to the 'T' intersection inside the club turn right and proceed to the High Power range.

Please obey the posted 5 mph speed limit to keep dust down.

This is a competitive match not affiliated with Project Appleseed but conducted on the same range before the Sunday Project Appleseed clinic begins at noon.  Project Appleseed participants wishing to participate in the match may do so by registering Sunday morning for $20 with the match organizer. 


CMP Match schedule

Meet at 100 yard firing line of High Power range

8:00 AM - Target set up (help appreciated)

8:30 AM - Registration ($20 per adult/$5 junior)

9:00 AM - Match begins

12:00 PM - Estimated match end

Scoring - Electronic target scoring will be used.  You can see your hits on your phone, tablet or iPad (all brands).

Rifle rules - All centerfire rifle and sighting types of any magnification will be permitted.  Match director will assign the appropriate category based on your equipment.

Course of Fire -

All stages are fired from 200 yards.

5 sighters and 10 record shots slow fire prone in 15 minutes

10 shots rapid fire prone from standing in 80 seconds

10 shots slow fire standing in 10 minutes

All competitors will be allowed to fire the course two times.

Total Round count - 70 rounds
