What a great fall weekend, and no better place then to spend it at an Appleseed in Iroquois Rod and Gun Club in Rotterdam New York. Leaves changing, wind blowing and rain falling, all this and chilly too; who could ask for more. Well we did, and it happened, 16 shooters came to the line to save our Nation, with it 6 families on the line. That alone takes the chill out of you. Smiles could be seen everywhere. O0

Brian and Jake from Massachusetts, father and son, proved to be some serious shooters, and live near Battle Road, Massachusetts, keep an eye out for these two. Headed home looking for shoots near them.

Margaret and Clare are returning to the line, always a pleasure to have them with us, and Clare a note taking serious shooter, very intent.

Maisey, Kyla, Theresa and dad, Dan, some more return shooters, showing up with some of their own rifles, and talking about how they were dry firing at home. A nice family to have joining us at shoots; they apply all that is given to them. Maisey, wrote a school paper on Appleseed and received an "A" grade. After reading it, it was deserving of an A+, a great review of Appleseed.

Dan and Brian showing up, brothers, they listened and provided answers, then got on the line and got to work. Look forward to seeing you guys again at another program. Good people.

Gus and Doc Rob, both experienced shooters, Doc Rob a rifleman already, continuing his journey, and I believe we will see Gus on the line again. All smiles.

Annie, Gunny, Jon and Alan, all return Rifleman, Alan, an instructor in Appleseed, came to the line, and Greg, another instructor all maintaining their Rifleman skills. Very nice work by all; Annie, finally scoring the rifleman mark with her own rifle.

Promoted from Cook to Rifleman is Gus shooting a 217 and 215 :---

Continuing their journey is: :~ :--- :~ :---
Gunny shooting his first score of 249 and shooting rifleman on every AQT after it.
Greg shooting a 226
Annie a 213
Jon a 228 and 234 - THEN stepping up and taking an Orange Hat to join Team Northeast.
Good work.

Thank you to all, and thank you to Iroquois Rod and Gun for allowing us the use of your facility and grounds. Very nice people.

And finally, to our instructors - NYRASGT, The Mrs., LittleMo, Smurf, Gregch44, Dude and Karis-Wheel - thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge. Nice work.

A great weekend to be an American.  Despite less then pristine weather, 16 shooters came to the line to continue the tradition started by our forefathers so many years ago.

A big thank you to Iriquois Rod and Gun for sharing their facilities with us.  I am sure they were thrilled to see so many young shooters on our lines.  This club is so dedicated to the development of kids in the shooting sports.

Thank you to our shooters for coming, despite the weather conditions!!

Thank you Stick Mark, MAD Mark, Gary, Gregg, Bill, Karis and Alan for coming and sharing your knowledge and experience.  I always learn more from each and every one of you.

And speaking of creative targets!!  Cheese-Its for the chipmunks!!!   ;D ;D

WOW, forgot about the Cheese-it drill at 25 meters, with a hole in the center a tack fits nice to post on backer, with 3 rounds shooters were tasked, few shot it with first shot, others second, enjoyed watching the drill.

Thank you Margaret and Clare for sharing you Cheese-it's - you brought smiles to the line.

Throughout her career, it is believed that Annie Oakley taught upwards of 15,000 women how to use a gun. Oakley believed strongly that it was crucial for women to learn how to use a gun, as not only a form of physical and mental exercise, but also to defend themselves.
