2011 After Action reports from other sources
« on: March 06, 2011, 07:11:19 PM »
Let's get 2011 started off:

http://www.survivalblog.com/2011/03/letter_re_gaining_key_rifle_sk.html

...To say the training that I got was worth 10x what I paid would be fair. My wife unfortunately could only attend the first day, but the training and special attention she received was priceless - I could never have taught her the basics so well in many months the way the female instructor was able to relate the information to her in that one day.

What a nation has done, a nation can aspire to.
Dr. Jerry Pournelle

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

E-mail sent to me by the author, Gregory Cook.

Sorry, I spaced on this, but finally, here are the links to the story and multimedia piece we did on you guys here in Bakersfield. Your organization is one I would be very interested in getting involved with, as you guys are doing good things. I'm looking forward to your next event up here.

Here is a link to the story that we ran in our print edition:

Is there a way you can contact this shooter and ask if we can repost his AAR on AS Facebook pages as a note?

Thanks.

Woman Hunter magazine has a very nice article (with some really awesome pictures) about Appleseed in their August / September issue. Intheburbs, the Michigan state coordinator is going to ask for permission to post the whole article. In the meantime, I’ll give you the introduction, as that will not violate copyright.

“With the passing of another Fourth of July, our nation grows yet another year older. It is at this time that we are acutely aware of the sacrifices that our founding ancestors endured to establish the freedom we now have. While this spirit of patriotism waxes and wanes at times in our great nation, the Revolutionary War Veterans Association (RWVA) rekindles the spirit of red, white and blue across our land, reminding us what it means to be an American.”

Jennifer Anne Brozek wrote the article. Lisa Snelling is the publisher of the magazine. I met Lisa at the Deer / Turkey Expo in Michigan in February. Lisa is our LBOTG for our first ever Michigan Ladyseed which will take place at the Grand Blanc Huntsman’s Club August 20 –21, 2011.

As a side note, and to inject some humor, someone asked me where the Ladyseed was being held and I answered, “Grand Blanc”. Their reply was, “That’s okay, tell me when you remember”. After a short confused pause on my part, I replied, “Grand Blanc is a city in Michigan”.

This is known as “bad luck.”
