Hello,

This isn't Appleseed related, so I'd appreciate any replies coming via PM, in order to not interfere with the business of the Appleseed Project.

I'm retiring from the Air Force in a few years and will be looking to relocate to your fine State.  I'd like to find out which areas in Montana would be suitable for a small (around 40 acres or less) self-sustaining homestead style farm.  We'd like to have a good sized garden, some goats and such, and hopefully in an area with some quality hunting and maybe even fishing.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome aboard friend! You need to be looking in the Flathead Lake area or the Bitterroot area if you want to grow much. PM me if you need specific information about any areas!

Welcome! The Flathead Valley would be my location of choice.  Here you will find, in my opinion, some of the most informed and self sufficient folks in the Nation.  We welcome newcomers as long as you appreciate the place for how it is and how we live, not try to change MT to be more like where you came from. (You wouldn't believe how much of that we get - If your leavin' it's for a reason I say)  You can find some screamin' deals in the Mountain trader for land and other goodies.
