Fall in Ohio is always hit and miss with the weather, but this weekend, we had fantastic weather. We had a great group of students who came ready to learn. We started the day by hearing about the first strike of the match on April 19th, 1775. We moved on and learned about safety and then shoot the first hits count target of the weekend.Out of 6 shooters, we had al 6 hit all three shots in the 100, 4 hit all in the 200, 2 hit all in the 300, 1 hit all in the 400 and 2 hit the shingle.

We learned the six steps of firing the shot with natural point of aim and the prone position and sling use before lunch. We worked on several drills in the process of learning this. All of the shooters showed improvement..

We heard the second strike of the match before learning talking targets and inches, minutes, clicks. We performed several drills, we then moved to learning seated and standing positions and working through an AQT.  Learner reconfirmed his Rifleman with a score of 221 and then a 219. We also heard the story of the third strike of the match.

We finished the day with a hits count target. Out of 3 shooters, we had 2 hit all three shots in the 100, 2 hit all in the 200, 1 hit all in the 300, 1 hit all in the 400 and 2 hit the shingle.

Sunday brought the same great weather as Saturday. We started with reviewing the positions, six steps of firing the shot with natural point of aim, and safety before shooting the hits count target. Out of 5 shooters, we had 4 hit all three shots in the 100, 2 hit all in the 200, 3 hit all in the 300, 4 hit all in the 400 and 2 hit the shingle.

We moved on to AQTs, Drills, and several fun shoots for the rest of the day. Maddog1776 reconfirmed his rifleman with a 228, a 219, and 226. Sacagawea reconfirmed with 238. Terry reconfirmed with a 217 and a 213. Griffen was chasing a distinguished with a 234, 235, and then hit his mark to get distinguished with a 244 followed by a 247, 243 and 246! Apex24 reconfirmed with a 214. We ended the day with the last hits count target. Out of 5 shooters, we had 3 hit all three shots in the 100, 4 hit all in the 200, 4 hit all in the 300, 2 hit all in the 400 and 3 hit the shingle with Griffin and Maddog1776 clearing the target.

Thank you to all of the students that came to the clinic. It was a pleasure to meet all of you and I hope to see you again at another Appleseed. Continue to work on dry firing in the different positions.

Thank you to all of the instructors who worked this shoot, and thank you to Piqua Fish and Game for allowing us the use of the range.
