Lapeer, MI AAR - August 22-23, 2026 (Young Marines)

I'm a bit late getting to the AAR, but Project Appleseed was pleased to once again welcome the Young Marines to Lapeer County Sportsmen's Club for a weekend of Marksmanship and History.

We were joined by six young marines who set up their encampent on the club lawn Friday night, and after enduring a bit of rain, got straight to work learning the essential marksmanship techniques that have been passed down through generations of Americans. The marines were engaged throughout our history presentations, and we even had one marine in full revolutionary-era dress! In combination with our local reinactor Roundballer, it made for an exciting display of history when the Brown Bess musket came out for live fire on Sunday.

It's with great pride that we pass the torch of Liberty to the next generation of Americans, and I want to thank the Young Marines org and Lapeer County Sportsmen's Club for continuing to join us in that mission. Thank you also to our fantastic group of volunteers - Zorak, King T, Pookie, number6 - and a surprise visit from MrSurplus! You guys are the best!
