Picked up a G43 slide with the Holosun 407K footprint.

Looking for red dot recomendations, ive used Swamp Fox and Vortex for previous needs but am looking into the dual retical (circle and dot), So holosun is an easy solution, but looking into real world feedback.

Thanks

What do you plan to use it for? What draws you to the dual reticle?

If it's about finding the dot, I think the Primary Arms ACSS variant of the 507k is absolutely the way to go. Instead of a small ring around the dot, it's a huge ring that's outside the window entirely, if you have the dot centered. If your dot starts to drift, you start to see the ring, which gives you instant feedback on where your dot is.

However, I see that big circle as a training wheel. If you start doing practical shooting with the sight and use color confirmation, you'll want to turn it off and rely on the center dot. Using color confirmation with the huge ghost ring will lead to bad results.

I have a vortex venom and it's fine, works well. I also have a 507 Holosun. I don't use the circle around the dot very much as it clutters up the target for me. It may be fine defensively but doesn't help in terms of target shooting. Also it uses up the battery a lot faster than the standard dot.

Thanks,  I have been hearing a few respected instructors on podcasts talking about how the 40-60 moa ring has practical application for carry and more functional shooting over pinpoint accuracy.

I like the dual reticle of the Holosun. I have several of them. Both fast acquisition and precision. I use them to shoot IDPA and Pistolseed.

I'm partial to the ACSS VULCAN reticle for a carry gun or for someone like my octogenarian mother who isn't capable of putting in a lot of reps.

You never see the outside circle unless you don't have the chevron/dot. (2 different styles)

Karl from Tactical Rifleman has done a couple different videos on them.

Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

official update.... due to clicking order to fast and not checking things i wont be testing the multi-reticle just yet. But i am a pround owner of a new 6moa green dot. **)

Interestingly the green does not seem to do much for my astigmatism starburst, but thats just a thing. Have not tested it live yet, but hopefully will soon.

I just got this SIG red dot with various reticle options and the 5x magnifier to go with it, but at a much better price.

The 10/22 I plan to mount them on arrived yesterday. Eventually.
And I know you're on pistol not rifle planning, but I think they're neat and the reticle especially so I dropped them.
