I want to thank the great folks at LeRoy Rifle and Pistol Club for hosting us for another Appleseed event this year.  They are great folks and have a wonderful range.

We had 5 shooters come out to our inaugural RFKD at this range.  After covering the basic differences in shooting longer distances with the rimfire and a safety brief, we got underway with sighters.  A review of IMC and sight adjustments had us engaging our first targets at 25M <this was a 100yd RFKD>.  Once hits were counted and pasted, the targets were moved out to 50.  We discussed how wind affects bullets more dramatically than with centerfire and how to adjust for it.  We shot sighters and calculated adjustments before shooting stage 2.  Hits counted and pasted, then targets moved to 75.  Rinse and repeat out to 100.  Rachel and James showed they know what they are about by both scoring Rifleman on the first AQT.  We ended the day by shooting the second AQT coming back.  It was a long day and the scores showed folks were getting tired.

Day2 started with a quick review and reminder of the importance of Return To Zero.  Although mentioned on Saturday, a couple of folks had 'lightbulb' moments and started making notes.  We had some new rifles and shooters on the line as volunteers filled a gap in the firing line and tried their hand at earning the RFKD bar.  As such, we took sighters at each distance again on Sunday.  By the end of day 2, Chuck scored at distance.  Both Keith and Rachel were able to requal.

I want to thank my awesome crew for the weekend of Vopps, Warriorpoet, Bundt Pan, Peper 5150,  and JHB.  They handled the POIs and running the line with great professionalism.

We also gained a new volunteer.  Rachel, still working on the forum name, took an Orange Hat.
