We had our first Boyscout Exclusive 1-Day Appleseed this weekend and I think it was a great success. Boy Scout troop #235 from Tustin had contacted me and asked if RWVA would be willing to put on a 1-Day Appleseed just for their Boyscout Troop. After a nod from Fred we set the date and history was made. 34 Boyscouts, along with 2 parents showed up and were run through the normal Saturday protion of an Appleseed. Rumor has it that two of the Scouts shot Rifleman scores and asked to become Orange hats! I'll let the other Instructors fill in the details. I don't know how many Scouts got their Rifle Merit Badges, but as soon as I hear, I will post. The 3 Strikes of the Match were presented at lunch and they even managed to shoot a couple of QDAQT's before the day was over.
This same Troop has attended an Appleseed along with their Merit Badge Counselor before at the Corona range and what a great group of young men!
I was invited to attend the Orange County Boyscout Council's "Round Table" meeting to present Appleseed to the rest of the Troops in the Council and I am looking forward to it!
A special thanks to the Instructors that made themselves available to teach this very special Appleseed. Thanks goes to V, Savageshootr, Kool aid, SonoftheRepublic, Phone Prone, Scavenger, ASMinuteman and especially Hollywoodmarine for Shoot Bossing this event. With this many Scouts I thought it would be a good idea to get as many pairs of eyes on the line as possible. I want to thank the Scout Masters for gathering these young men together and getting them to the range.
Now its time to hear from the other Instructors.........

Bob210 forgets to mention that he came down Saturday with some supplies and helped set up the range. Thanks Bob.

Thanks also to DisasterDuck for being an extra set of eyes on the line to keep things safe. He helped out a great deal.

It was an honor to be able to help out at such an event. These young men are our posterity. Thank you to all who came out. CONGRATULATIONS to the scouts who made Rifleman and took the Orange Hat. Congratulations to all of the Scouts for showing up. What a great group! Thank You for coming and giving me the opportunity.

The first target was the Redcoat, as was the last target. These guys (and one mom) showed significant improvement. We had 9 with an effective range of at least 100 yards in the morning and 21 with an effective range of at least 100 yards in the afternoon, with at least three of those with AM effective range not shooting the afternoon Redcoat (two of those being Riflemen.) Great improvement everybody!

Thanks to HollywoodMarine for running the show. It was great working with everybody again. After all of us being scattered for April 18-19, it felt like a reunion. It was nice to see V, phoneprone, asminuteman, DisasterDuck, SonoftheRepublic, Bob210, Scavenger, and Koolaid again.  <:)

It was our dear Brandon and Jonas that stepped up. You may remember Brandon came to a reg. Appleseed in March, I believe, with his dad. He shot a 211 at the end of the day and as soon as I figure out how to post it I'll get the video up of the water cooler that came shortly after...
Good times with good people...
