Another great weekend for a March shoot in Georgia.  This time we were at the awesome Marion Road Gun Club in Macon for a pistol clinic.   The club is extremely generous.  They've allowed us to hold our clinics at their range for at least 15 years and they donate their range fees to us as well.  The weather mostly held off for us, with only a brief downpour Sunday afternoon.  It hit the upper 70's and mid 80's.  Hard to believe it snowed the very next day.  Our Alaskan shooter headed down to Florida to try and avoid the cold.

We had a good mix of shooters - 9 mostly experienced plus a couple of newer shooters that picked things up really quickly. In addition to the Alaskan (AK-84), we had Geek and JaysHoneyBunny from Indiana, Centimeter on loan from Idaho, and our own Yankee Davey helping out.  One of the many things I love about Appleseed is the atmosphere.  Shooters and volunteers are some of the most helpful and nicest people you can find.  This weekend was no different - the shooters lent a hand and offered their expertise throughout the weekend.  The history was great.  The instruction was clear.  And the second day was full of a lot of fun exercises and Dangerous Old Men & Women stories. I'm excited to see all the 2 day pistol clinics on the calendar this year.  All the extra things learned the 2nd day really help us learn those fundamentals. I hope to see everyone again at our next event.

AK-84 came all the way down from Alaska!  While we loved meeting you, next time leave the snow at home.  All the volunteers that have at least 6 shoots under their belts earn a GA patch when they help out here.

Yankee Davey started the weekend off right with a very detailed 1st Strike.  I'm sure I've heard him tell this strike before, but he always adds something extra.

Mark's 1st target of the day after some instruction.  Not too shabby!!!  That's 5 shots of 9mm.

Relay 2 preparing for a stage.

Stage 4 Looking good!

Stage 5 - worth double!  They were taking their time.

Geek gave a great 3rd Strike.  He is a very heartfelt story teller. Thankfully he and JaysHoneyBunny tour around the country so a lot of us can hear both of them.  I sent up the Appleseed signal asking for a little help this weekend and they came rolling in.  Geek did a huge chunk of the line bossing and instruction - THANK YOU!!!

Yankee Davey and Centimeter took turns helping each other with the Ball & Dummy Drill

Don and JaysHoneyBunny teamed up for the Ball & Dummy Drill too

Centimeter told us all about Samuel Whitemore Sunday morning

An aerial view of JaysHoneyBunny shooting.  It helps that her husband is a full foot taller.

Congratulations on requalifying with a 229, Centimeter!  Awesome shooting. He was shooting his 10mm (aka a Centimeter) all day and Cheri was nice enough to let him try out her .22.  It didn't matter what he shot - he was a great shot with everything.

Here Centimeter cleared the last Hits Count of the day.  He went back to the 10mm for this one.

Perfect practice makes perfect.  We're trying.  A Pistoleerâ„¢ persists.  These guys all shoot so well

Yankee Davey requalified again.  Nice shooting!

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
