What a great weekend for Liberty!  Twelve shooters came out to hear our message and reconnect with our founders by honing their marksmanship skills.  We had among us a good mix of first-time attendees and repeats.  We also had several club members as attendees.  South Kent Sportsmans Club is a great facility.  A huge thank you to them for hosting Project Appleseed.

On Saturday, we opened the firehose of knowledge and saw one AQT completed before the day was over.  The weather tried to dampen the crew's spirits with a little precipitation.  Everyone did a great job of dealing with the rain and heat as the weekend progressed.  Canopies made a big difference both on the firing line and equipment area.  The stories we shared seemed to be great inspiration.  Mitchell, a first-time attendee, scored a 218 on Saturday.  He also cleared the Hits Count target.

On Sunday, we had moderate temps but it was still hot and muggy.  The occasional breeze brought welcomed relief.  As the day progressed, Mitchell was able to requalify and prove the first one was not a fluke.  Kris, Mark, and Jeff all joined the 210 or better club.  Kris was a requal from this spring.  Both Mark and Jeff returned after earlier attempts to obtain those coveted Rifleman patches and succeeded.  We had many good scores and lots of improvement through the weekend.  Jack, our youngest shooter, was awarded the William Diamond Patch and given one of our revolutionary war flags.

I want to thank the instructor crew that worked this event.  MI-Copperhead, JHB, Fidget, jennwilber73, Pookie, and ITB all did a fantastic job keeping us safe and on task.  We also added a couple of new cadre.  GoForKris and Fusion both stepped up and took orange hats at the event.

Our cause is just . . . our country will be grateful - George Rogers Clark

"This country has been made by the Timothy Murphys, the men in the ranks. Conditions here called for qualities of heart and hand that Tim Murphy had in abundance. Our histories should tell us more about the men in the ranks, for it was to them, more than to the generals that we were indebted for our military victories." -  Franklin Delano Roosevelt, as New York Governor, 1929, at the dedication of the memorial to Murphy
