Some days are more challenging than others on the Appleseed trail.

This Saturday saw warnings for severe thunderstorms for the morning, and potential for the rest of the day.  An IDPA event using a different part of the range seemed quiet compared to its usual attendance.

Sure enough, though we were dry for the First Strike, the morning Hits Count target saw some warning drops fall, and first few blocks of instruction were done under shelter.  But Riflemen (and prospective Riflemen) persist, and wet rifles, scopes, mats, students and instructors worked through it.

The groups were predominantly small on our Squares, showing student dedication and attentiveness, so we moved right into AQT training after lunch and a capable Second Strike from IronMike.  The first AQT showed some promise despite the heat, so after a break for Red Momma Bear's Third Strike, we pulled off a second AQT on a one-day Appleseed.  Nice!

We got to see Jerry make Rifleman, with scores of 211 and 235.  Great work, Jerry!

Hope we get to see you all back for the next Appleseed!
If I knew the world was ending today, I would still plant another Appleseedling.
