We had a terrific event this last weekend in Martin, GA.  A group of 6 boys and 3 dads spent the weekend hearing history and beginning/continuing their journeys towards riflemen - plus an extra dad that hung out for moral support.  Along the way, we gained a red hat and a new rifleman!!!  All our shooters were new Appleseeders; all brought teachable attitudes, all were great to work with.  The weather was mostly great - a little rain on Saturday morning followed by the 1000% humidity and sun (slight exaggeration) typical for a May weekend in GA.  Water was pushed and the occasional water fights broke up the heat a bit.

Many thanks to Chris (range owner) for the use of the range and the Gatorade at the end of the weekend - that got me home.  Thanks to other Chris for hanging around and helping keep an eye on us.  Next time I hope we can convince you to shoot too.  Gator's Strikes are worth the price of admission.  Thanks for always adding a little something to keep even us veteran Appleseeders rapt.  Congratulations, Zinthous on the nice new red hat - well earned!!!  And last, but not least - thanks ak47sharpshooter for bringing your sharp shooting son and jumping right back in as a volunteer.

Now that you all have the basics down, try out that perfect practice and come back and see us soon.

Zinthous and ak47 help fit the slings to the boys in the morning.

Father and son - what a great way to spend the weekend together

Brett concentrates on his steady hold factors.

Looking good!

Saturday was over before we knew it.  All the boys were awarded the William Diamond patch.

Greg cleared his Hits Count target 3 out of 4 times!  His son showed a lot of improvement from Saturday morning  to Sunday afternoon - this is his Saturday PM target.

The boys were fantastic instructors Sunday morning as we reviewed what we learned on Saturday.

ak47sharpshooter shared a DOM story he remembered from a decade ago - Samuel Whittemore.  Thanks!

Ball and Dummy drill

Greg and Brett were great coaching their boys and each other

More ball and dummy - thanks for letting me shoot your rifle!

Greg scored a very respectable 229 on his first AQT!  Congratulations!

Everyone helped retire Zinthous' orange hat

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
