FYI, the TWRA range at Southside has reopened after lead reclamation.  Heading that way this morning.  THye have pistol ranges and steel pits, they have a 25-100 yard rifle range and a 200-400 yard rifles range. Archery ranges and a ton of shotgunning options for skeet and trap.     :snipersmi  :---  :~  :F

Does "Southside" have a different name? I can't find references to it on the TWRA website.

It is the Montgomery county shooting complex.  However, after loading all of my gear and driving over there, they say still closed.  Trying to open by first of May.  They have been closed for 2 1/2 years for lead reclamation but the website is saying thats done and they are OPEN< They are NOT.....guess im shooting on the farm for a few more weeks....

Maybe they updated the website after your wasted trip. There's a banner at the top of the page that says the rifle and pistol ranges are closed for construction. And that the website is under maintenance.
Bummer. I've been waiting to try that location out.

Its a great location.  THe banner has been up for 2 1/2 years and they took down in the last couple of weeks and if you look at the rifle range there is a posting that says"come out and see the upgrades"  IF its there now, they putit back up after i went in there this morning.   :DH:

An EMAIL response from the lead at this range informs me that they are trying to get it back open by Mid june.  As soon as it is OPENED for service again I will make a post so people can go if they want.  its a great range and it would be an awesome place to hold some events.

@TNPatriot Thanks for the update. Hopefully the mid-June re-opening holds. Seems like they have been pushing it back since April when I first reached out to them. Anxious to check it out.

YES< I Went over there ready to shoot a few weeks ago when the took the CLOSED banners down, figuring that meant it was OPEN< everything on the website said it was opened, I went over there only to be told first of MAY< now its the end of MAY and they are saying middle of JUNE, if it doesnt happen soon im calling my State REP.
