The weather was interesting for this weekend's LadySeed.  Saturday was breezy, overcast and in the 70's.  Sunday started off with steady rain, cleared up around 10 AM and finished with a quick downpour as we were cleaning up.

We had 8 shooters ranging in age from 57-80 and all skill levels.  Those AGAG ladies always bring the fun to an event.  There were a few shooters returning to hone their skills and a majority of first-time Appleseeders.  These ladies were a hoot, showing up with teachable attitudes, a sincere interest in the history of April 19, 1775, and participated in a very active discussion on Known Distance shooting and the challenges of a rifleman.  The rain didn't even stop these ladies.  I think we are going to see some of them at future KD events.  Huzzah!

Evelyn and Stephanie scored sharpshooter, while Ludmilla and Linda scored Marksman.  Cindy, Suzann, Mary and Wendy all show great potential and with some perfect practice with NPOA and the six steps, I am sure we will see them scoring at their next event.

A special thanks to the Flagler Gun & Archery Club for supporting Project Appleseed.  I enjoyed meeting Steve, President of the club, and Martin, manager of the active range hosting the event.  You guys have a nice range and I am very appreciative of your support for Project Appleseed. I look forward to seeing you both at future events.

Also, thank you to all the instructors, 9mm4545, rambo granny, SweetCarolyn, codyClemonade, FLawyer, Heavyduty77, Dee, JC/DC – you all did an amazing job coaching the shooters.  The receipts are the improvement from Saturday to Sunday for every shooter.  Really nice job team!  Of course, special thank you to emptyroller , our Applecore volunteer, who runs the most organized check-in system I have ever experienced.

Appleseed weekends are always fun!  :---  ..:..

This was the first Ladyseed that I'd been involved with and what a fantastic event! All the shooters should be proud of their efforts, and I'm hoping we see you all back at another event soon.

Thanks as always to the Flagler Gun and Archery Club.

And thanks to our Shoot Boss, Sara, for running a great weekend.

Looks like a great event!  Congrats to everyone!  Gotta love those Ladyseeds!!
It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan

I certainly enjoyed working with this fantastic group of students. The progress achieved was remarkable and your attitudes were enthusiastic, focused, and determined. To shoot a rifle with accuracy and skill requires: 1) hold the rifle steady (proper position and sling use employing all the steady hold factors), 2) using skeletal support and minimal muscle input, align the rifle to the target (natural point of aim), 3) make the rifle go bang without jiggling the rifle (six steps). Simple enough, right? Disciplined regular dry practice will get you there much faster than you might imagine as long as you practice perfectly. I look forward to seeing each and every one of you achieving your goals and earning the designation of Rifle(wo)man!
The American Constitution is remarkable for its simplicity; but can only suffice a people habitually correct in their actions, and would be utterly inadequate to the wants of a different nation.  Change the domestic habits of the Americans, their religious devotion, and their high respect for morality, and it will not be necessary to change a single letter in the Constitution in order to vary the whole form of their government. - Francis Grund 1837
