What a fantastic event!

We had a great group of shooters. The weather was rainy on Saturday and sunny on Sunday. We simply rearranged some of the instruction to stay dry. The range facility was first rate and a great place to work an event. Instructors could not have been better or more cooperative.

Shooters ages ranged from 16 to 70, most were first timers at Appleseed. After shooting the Hits Count target, we started on the basics. The group worked hard and were very attentive. Our most inexperienced shooters, who couldn't hit many shots on the Red Coat target in the morning improved greatly on the Squares targets. Sadly, we did not get an AQT in on Saturday because of the rain,

On Sunday we moved quickly through the review materials so we could get on the line as fast as possible. Since the group was so cooperative, we moved smoothly through our review and got right to shooting. Congratulations to everyone for working so hard. We managed 6 AQTs by the end of the day. Sadly, no one made score but several were very close and will probably do it on their next Appleseed.

The weekend went well and everyone was very dedicated. All shooters should feel good about the improvements that they made. A big thank you to the best crew of instructors in Appleseed.  Everyone did a wonderful job and the teamwork was amazing.  Check out some pictures at the following link.

Everyone who attended showed significant improvement from the Saturday morning starting point. Please come back to continue the journey, and bring a friend!  O0

Everyone is capable of making that Rifleman (expert) score. The key is perfect practice, and persistence. Dry fire practice, as well as practice getting into the different positions can be done at home. A few minutes spent a day will pay large dividends. Then go to the range periodically, putting this into live practice.

Make sure your rifle fits you. Your scope & stock should be adjusted so you have a clear sight picture without shadowing. This should be checked from the prone position.

It was another great weekend celebrating and passing on our history as well as improving marksmanship.  Shooters and cadre, it was a pleasure and honor working with all of you.  Great improvement was made and after one of two more events, our shooters should be sporting some new patches.  Keep up the good work and always persist.

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
