Another wonderful Appleseed weekend with even more historical significance and "weight" than usual.

First I want to thank all of the Appleseeders for coming out and participating in being an American Citizen, learning a little of our heritage as a nation of Riflemen and improving your marksmanship skills. Also thanks to the Instructors (Funfaler, Grandson of Liberty, Scavenger, Recruiter, Mycrstuff, and 22calgal) that gave so much of their time and effort to make the shoot run smoothly.

This was the first HOT weekend we have had here in Sunny Southern California so far this year.

We also had the added pleasure Saturday of having Natalie Burkholder out filming for an upcoming article at www.thefreedomfactory.us  She also interviewed several of the ladies instructing and attending this Appleseed.  I will post the link to this coverage when it becomes available.

Several people said that they shed a tear during the Volley for Victory on Saturday making me feel better about the tears that dripped down my cheeks.  Imagine that - grown men crying over the gift of freedom that these men sacrificed their lives for.

History at lunch well received with Grandson of Liberty doing the first strike and Funfaler covering the 2nd and rolling into the 3rd.  Thank you Funfaler for flying out from Kentucky to help us out at in Corona!

Sunday morning promised to be HOTTER than Saturday and many of the participants brought out EzUps for shade.  We also had a nice breeze in the early morning that unfortunately turned into a gale, pulling many of the EzUps almost over and finally destroying one of them buckling under the strong winds. Instruction and shooting resumed after pulling down most of the rest of the shades.  This left us shooting in the sun the rest of the day.  But Riflemen Persist!

We had one Rifleman CalSurfer shoot an excellent score of 225.  He decided to sit out the next few AQT's so we put him to work clearing the line.  I am also very please to say that he has stepped up and taken on the Orange Hat and is now starting down his IIT journey.  When asked what he did to get his score he replied that he had practiced alot!

Cheers

MrBill

CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the new Rifleman! You thought by sitting out, you were going to sit? HA No time like the present to jump in and help out.

Tears? I thought I was the crybaby of the group.  ;) You were in good company with those tears on Saturday.

Thanks for the report.

A Great Shoot!

Lots of good folks, on and behind the firing line.

The IITs performed very well, showing the kind of quality and enthusiasm that is making California the envy of the Appleseed program  O0

Again, this Midwestern boy is impressed and touched with how the California people (shooters and Instructors) have such a "can do" attitude!

It was a great pleasure to be in California for April 19th.....never thought I would be saying that  <:)

Well, add Corona to the list of awesome Appleseeds this past weekend! Shoot Boss Mr. Bill put together a great event, and it's always good to have a Funfaler sighting out here! Many thanks to him for coming all the way out. It sure was a pleasure having you out this way, FF!  O0

Recruiter and Scavenger took lots of pics when they had a spare moment, which wasn’t too often as we were kept mighty busy with the 40+ shooters.  They did a great job coming off their IBC a few weeks ago calling the line and providing instruction.  Hope we get to see some of your pics here soon!  :)

A high percentage of shooters were first time Appleseeders, and it was an honor to have met some fine Americans this weekend. We also had mycrstuff and 22calgal helping out on the line- many thanks to both of you as well!

I’ve really got to hand it to the all the shooters- it was spectacularly hot out there this weekend, but everyone kept in good spirits and took it as just another challenge for a Rifleman to overcome.

Most everyone saw great improvement in their groups throughout the weekend, and we have several folks knocking on the door. CalSurfer was cursed with the ability to make everything look easy. He fell just short of a Rifleman score on day one with a bolt rifle- at his first Appleseed if I’m not mistaken! As MrBill said, he gave it a try with a semi-auto .22 and qualified with a 225 score, earning the only patch of the weekend.  More importantly than that though, he answered the call and now wears the orange hat of an IIT! Calsurfer, congrats and thank you! Welcome to the club!

We had lots of folks tell us they’d be back, and they won’t be coming alone next time.  O0

I really can’t say enough about the people I got to work with and the folks I got to meet this weekend. I think I might just have to do it again sometime.  ;)

Hey all Keith here with a THANK YOU !! for your time and effort. You all did a, shall I say smashing job out there and I am proud to say that I was also deeply touched by the dedication volley.  Our group, those that did not chicken out due to the heat, all agreed that "everyone loves redcoats" and are looking forward to the next meet in June. Paul, Steve and I will be actively working as many members of the ISG as possible to get them off the couch and out their to the June Appleseed project.

As I stated at the October Corona event, this is hands down the best and most challenging marksmanship program available. If folks are out there looking for a deal this is one that can not be passed up. As for the trainers, nothing beats presentation that come from the heart, If you feel, it believe, and are passionate about it you teach it with outstanding results.
This course and presentation was outstanding.

Thank you all for your time and dedication to our Country. O0

Sorry it has taken me so long to chime in here.  What a great weekend I had. I really enjoyed the group of people at the shoot. I have even run into a couple since and they still offer congrats for making rifleman. Trust me it feels good to hear it and I can't wait to help others achieve it. :)  I really look forward to seeing everyone at future shoots.

I really want to thank all the instructors at the shoot. Without your GREAT instruction I would never have been able to shoot as well as I did. I even shocked my self. I'm looking forward to standing with the orange hats now.

And yes I have been practicing working the bolt on my old rifle. No way I am giving up on scoring rifleman with that!!!!
