I usually start these with "Another beautiful weekend at the Leyden Rifle Club". But, Saturday started overcast, damp, and chilly. It started raining Saturday night, and continued drizzle, and rain, and cold, with a steady "breeze" out of the north on Sunday (2.75" of rain). In spite  of the inclemency, 6 stalwart individuals persevered through rain, mud, chill. Everyone made improvements in their marksmenship. As well as hearing inspiring stories of our heritage.

300berg and 33ralph gave a fun demonstration of the Brown Bess, and Charleville muskets, Saturday afternoon.

HamGun gave a fine presentation of Samual Wittemore.

A big well done to Charles for making Rifleman (219), and for stepping up to an Orange hat. Welcome aboard!
And Welcome to Gary for taking a Blue hat (an Orange hat shouldn't be far off : )

A BIG thanks to the instructor staff, with out whom this would have been much more difficult.

A big thanks also goes to the Leyden Rifle Club. I have to go back latter this week when the ground has dried a little, with a steel rake and smooth out our muddle hole.

Welcome to Mudville!  Population: Rifleman.

Intense concentration.

Bob cleverly shims his loose front post with a stack of staples.  Improvise. Adapt. Overcome!

HamGun tells about Samuel Whittemore.

A Rifleman patch and Orange Hat were awarded to Charles.  Huzzah!

Inspired by the Call-to-Action, Gary takes the Bluehat.  Huzzah!
