We had a beautiful spring weekend at Wolf Creek with 80-degree temperatures, lots of sunshine, a little wind, and a downpour right at the end of Sunday, just as we finished packing up the line.

Saturday morning started right on time with ten participants. Five of them were returning shooters. We started in the clubhouse with the safety briefing and the first strike, then went out to the range to get set up for the day. The morning Redcoat offered us an excellent preview of the weekend, with the 100/200/300/400/shingle numbers being 8/6/4/3/4 with two cleared.

We spent the morning working through instruction, sighting squares, and drills, then returned to the clubhouse for lunch and the second strike. After lunch, we worked on more sighting and drills, then shot the first AQT of the weekend. This resulted in three participants reconfirming their status as riflemen. Congratulations to Andy, Dave, and Steve!

Our Saturday evening Redcoat showed 100/200/300/400/shingle numbers being 8/7/5/3/5 with two cleared.

Third Degree finished Saturday's history with an excellent, passionate telling of the third strike. The first day ended with the much-needed reminder to hydrate and deal with the inflammation and sunburn the sun, wind, and exercise so generously provided.

Sunday again started right on time with a safety refresher. There were six shooters for Sunday. Since there was rain in the forecast, we started with the memorial volley for our opening Redcoat. Pretty sobering to stand and listen to the names of those who willingly gave so much for liberty. Our Sunday morning Redcoat showed the 100/200/300/400/shingle numbers being 5/4/3/2/2 with one cleared.

We then went through a few sighter squares and did a ball and dummy drill before posting our first AQT. The potential of incoming rain lit a fire under the participants, and the morning pace was quick. We posted the first AQT at 10:40 am. Even with the AQT refresher and some equipment adjustments, we had three AQT's done by the time we headed into the clubhouse for lunch and the KD presentation by 12:15 pm.

After lunch, under continuous threat of rain, we returned to the range and rapidly shot three more AQT's. Throughout Saturday, we had eight reconfirmations.

Congratulations to Josh, with four reconfirmations, and Steve, with two reconfirmations.

Special mention and congratulations go to Dave, who had two reconfirmations, one being a DISTINGUISHED! Huzzah!

The final Redcoat, with four participants, came in with the 100/200/300/400/shingle numbers being 4/4/4/3/4 with three cleared. Just as we finished packing up the range, the rain started, and we went into the clubhouse to end our day.

We ended with several DOM stories, patches, and pictures. We had a great time and hope to see all the participants and instructors again.
