What a fantastic weekend at Tusco Rifle Club. The weather was perfect with no rain which is unusual for New Philly in October!

We had an eager group of 11 shooters join us to put their 25m skills to the test! This group really knows what they're about! Saturday started with some instruction in the clubhouse then we moved to the range for a chance to join Daniel Morgan's men with a single cold bore shot at a shingle target posted at 250 yards. 4 from our group joined Daniel Morgan's Company! Congratulations Shadow870, Danton, Paul and Earl on hitting the shingle! By the end of the day Saturday, 3 men earned the Known Distance patch! Mark requalified with a score of 40; Paul earned his patch with a 46; and Drake earned his patch with a 42!

Sunday brought a cool start then warmed up as the day progressed. After more instruction in the clubhouse, we moved back to the range to practice range estimation. We then moved onto to AQT's and working on fundamentals to increase the scores. By the end of Sunday more of this group knew what they were about and earned the KD patch! Paul followed up his Saturday score with 48-48-48 earning him the Distinguished Patch before the end of the weekend! Mark followed up his Saturday score with 46-45-46! Drake followed up his Saturday score with a 47! We also had Mike and Roger requalify with scores of 40 for Mike and 43 and 47 for Roger! We also had new Riflemen join the group: Danton earning a 41, and Melia earning a 43! Congratulations to all of you!

Not far behind them, our other shooters are well on the path to earning the KD Patch! We were able to give some individual tips and tricks, add dry fire practice to that and you'll get to that KD Rifleman score!

Congratulations again to our new and requalifying Riflemen and Riflewomen! Thank you all for joining us! We look forward to seeing you on the line again!

Huge thank you to Tusco Rifle Club and Sarah for not only hosting us for the weekend but also providing a delicious lunch!

Another huge thank you to the instructors that helped for the weekend! Doc Willi, Shadow870, Skifire and Camo Cowboy your help was greatly appreciated!

And last, but certainly not least, thank you Roger (Birdman) for our "Red Wagon" this weekend! It made checking and moving targets much easier!

I know some pictures were taken....let's see them!

Thank you all for a fantastic time. It was the perfect combination of great friends, a tremendous range facility and beautiful weather. It's an honor to share the range with you folks.

Had a great time at my first KD, can't wait to go to another next year!

First of all, thank you to the Tusco Rifle Club for their support of our program...and lunch. Saturday's shooting did not go well for me. But a Rifleman persists and I succeeded on Sunday. The only thing I can think of is a curly bit of ECI got in my bolt or somewhere else, frequently jamming it up. I drove 2 hours home Saturday, checked all the ammo I had, cleaned the rifle again and had not one failure all day on Sunday.
Charley, you did a fantastic job, and we all appreciate all you do. A big thanks to the other Instructors and especially Doc Willi for earning his green hat. It was great to be around so many outstanding patriots. See you next time!

What an amazing weekend of Appleseed KD marksmanship. The Tusco Rifle Club's excellent facilities and Sarah fixing us a hot lunch Saturday along with the outstanding late October weather made it well worth the four and a half hour trip . I thought my weekend was off to a flying start when I nailed Morgan's shingle with my cold bore shot but alas I was unable to put 4 solid strings of fire together in one course of fire to get to the nessasary 40 hits. I did however post 2 personal best stages with 9(18) hits on stage 4 Saturday and 10 hits on stage one on the last AQT Sunday. And Saturday's AQT score of 38 hits was my best to date so with a little more work on my rapid fire stages I should be able to earn that KD rocker next year.
Charley and the Ohio crew did an excellent job keeping us on track and battling the time monkey that is ever present at a KD.
A huge thanks to Birdman for ferrying us up and down the range as it kept this old guy in the game.
As much fun as the shooting part of an Appleseed is, the camaraderie and shared stories of life with the instructors and participants after dinner gives a person hope that are still people who understand the sacrifices and principles of the men both small and great who founded this great country.
Lord willing I will definitely be returning in search of that KD rocker and maybe even to work an event in Ohio.
