To show our appreciation to our new host range, we put on an event for the range owner, his family, and friends. This included 6 youths which was wonderful as sharing the story of our heritage to youth is special.

Saturday started cold, but that did not dissuade our shooters or cadre. We quickly went to work welcoming our shooters with TallTimber telling a wonderful 1st Strike. After the safety briefing, we brought rifles to the line. The results from the morning Red Coats let us know we had some work to do. The students were attentive and received the instruction well throughout the morning and by 11am we were shooting the first square and already had remarkable improvement.

Our hosts provided a wonderful lunch for everyone and we settled in for the 2nd Strike and IMC from CorgiMom. This was tailered so that the 6 youth shooters were not left behind and it showed. Even 7 year old Wilder was calculating and making sight adjustments effectively!

Our group caught on quickly and after 3 squares we moved on to mag changes, sitting and standing instruction. We managed to get in 2 AQTs in the afternoon with Eddie and Nick re-qualifying with 212 and 217 respectively. The afternoon Red Coat showed great improvement with more shingle hits and 2 shooters clearing the target.

Sunday arrived with the threat of rain but we stayed lucky as only short showers occurred. After some TPI review, we verified zero and got back to work. Tall Timber briefed our shooters on Ball & Dummy and our shooters embraced it very well with some taking the initiative by carding the sights for each other as well.

Our host treated everyone to lunch again on Sunday as we settled in for KD instruction.

We conducted 5 AQTs along with stories of Dangerous Old Men & Women for breaks. Shannon requaled with 217, and we had 2 new Riflemen with Brooke (215) and Nathan (212 & 217). Congrats to all!

Many thanks to Creeks Edge Farm! We already have 3 events on the schedule for 2023 and we are looking forward to sharing our heritage and adding to the nation of Riflemen!

More to come on this - stay tuned  O0

Sounds like a great event!  Huzzah!  Congratulations to those that shot a Rifleman score and TallTimber for his hat upgrade.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, 1775

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."  George Washington 1790

"[T]o preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them…"

Cleveland

What a great group to work with this weekend.

Many thanks to Eddie for his support of Appleseed and helping us to grow the program locally with his enthusiasm.

Also, thanks Chris, Eddie and Nick for all the work making huge improvements to the range, and continually finding ways make it even better.
