Another awesome event in Wears Valley! Events at this beautiful venue are always attended by great shooters and staffed by super instructors!

We started the morning with registration, opening comments (including an overview of the ranch by CokeGuy), and the first strike by Gator0246. Then it was time to cover safety and move to the range.

With the opening redcoat, we knew we had some work to do, so we moved right into sling use, prone, NPOA, and the six steps. After some dry fire exercise, we went live and saw some promising groups.

The next block was well received - lunch! While the shooters ate, Reclaimer gave us the 2nd strike.

After lunch, we shot some more squares, covered talking targets and IMC, then more squares. We took a break while OldNavyDoc kindled the fires of war with the third strike, then moved on to the sitting/kneeling and standing instruction.

Next, we moved into the first AQT, sprinkling in transition instruction as needed. The time monkey was trying to annoy us, but all instructors and several shooters elected to stay a bit late for a second AQT.

We didn't have any new riflemen, but Everett requalified with a 223 - Huzzah!

To all the shooters, your improvement throughout the day was evident. Remember that a rifleman persists! Keep practicing and dry firing. I know you can all earn that coveted patch at your next event!

I enjoyed this event and I hope to see you all again soon. Thanks to the shooters and instructors for making the day a success.

If you have any photos you would like to share, feel free to post them up here.

It was an awesome event! I have been wanting to attend an Appleseed  event  with my son for about 10 years. Well...I  finally got to attend this shoot at Wears Valley Ranch with both my son and my father! Thank you Appleseed  and thank you  Wears Valley Ranch! We enjoyed ourselves!

I do owe my dad and Mr Everett my apologies for getting confused and shooting their targets :) Sorry guys!!!

Congrats to Mr Everett for qualifying as rifleman yet again!

I will definitely attend another Appleseed if at all possible!

One question arose during this Sevierville Appleseed event that I  didnt think to ask. For a while, the sun was glaring off my front sight post and making it difficult to aim. How can I reduce the glare? I am running TechSights.

A quick search on RimfireCentral and I found this:

I haven't tried it, others here may have.

Soot from a candle works good.  Also soot from a piece of burning plastic, like a plastic spoon.  Both are very cheap and worth trying first.
