Leyden Rifle Club, Leyden MA Aug 13-14 2022

We had another Glorious weekend at the Leyden Rifle Club. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, 9 eager shooters, and a great staff of instructors to accommodate them. Both days were spent, improving marksmanship (well done sean with scores of 210 & 219), and story telling. mwolf gave us 1st strike. Round Trip 2nd strike, and Cait1775 the third strike. On Sunday Cait1775 took the part of Lydia Mulligan in a poignantly powerful presentation of "The Wedding that Never Happened". Several of us shared Dangerous Old Men and Women. For lunch goodpiper told the story of the Battle of Bennington (the battle started on Aug 14 1777) and sang "The Bennington Riflemans" song (Everyone joined in for a rousing third chorus). By the end of the weekend everyone had made strides forward, and knew what to work on for the future (not just shooting).

A big "Thanks!" to both Instructors and students for your hard work.

In the morning shadow of Gage Hill, Leyden without doubt the best place.  Goodpiper's singing of local Revolutionary songs that give the strikes and stories an earnest vibe of the time. Together with vigorous Rifle Marksmanship training make for a good time and appreciation.

Was last to leave.  Items left behind, maroon blanket, 2 black 2XL T-shirts, clip board with notes and tube with baggies.  If unclaimed they will go to my most worthy cause.
