Maryland Friends,

Many of you, earlier this year, attended our first attempt at an IBC in Charlottesville.  As advertised after our January Snowpocalypse IBC attempt, we've locked down the date for our next swing at this - August 27-28, 2022 at Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club!

Why you should come:
- If you're an Orange Hat, it's a great opportunity to learn the ropes, get instructional reps & sets in a positive, no-threat environment - AND possibly accelerate your advancement to Red Hat!
- If you're a Red Hat or Green Hat, it's a great opportunity to brush up or fine tune, even if you haven't been to an event in a while!
- If you're a Senior or Master Instructor, it's a great opportunity to teach and lead your reliefs - our next generation of instructors!
- For everybody, it's a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship and camaraderie with some great Americans  :F

What to Expect:
- This event will be run by Project Appleseed's National Coordinator, Maximum Ordinate, with The Wolfhound and yours truly as backup dancers (try and get THAT mental image out of your mind.  You're welcome.  ;D )
- This will be a two-day, non-firing event held in the the Rivanna Rifle & Pistol Club climate-controlled clubhouse.  ^:)^ ^:)^ ^:)^
- The syllabus will include some lecture and quite a bit of small group work.  Final details are in the works.
- There will be water, coffee, snacks and other sundries available throughout the weekend.  You bring your lunch both days.
- Dinner on Saturday evening will be TBD.  We're exploring some options; the lead horse in this race is a grill-out after the day's events.  Final decision will be made as we get closer (after we better understand what Day 1 will look like) --> More to follow on that.

What to Bring:
- Notepad and writing implement of your choice
- A copy of the latest Instructor Manual (available on the Appleseed Academy site via TIPS).
- A white board, if you have one.
- A rifle
- Most importantly, a learning mindset and a teachable attitude.

How to Sign Up:
- Students: Use the student sign-up link here.
- IBC Instructors:  Sign up on TIPS AND the student link above.  TIPS signup by invitation only via Maximum Ordinate, please.

Lodging:
- If you're travelling from out of town, please know that hotels get a bit pricey this time of year in the C'Ville area.  Some options include staying a little further out from C'Ville (Waynesboro, Staunton perhaps) or possibly using a discount code for Choice Hotels (found on the Instructor Purchase Program board here
- For those who like to RV or camp, there's a full service KOA not more than 10 minutes from the range (Charlottesville KOA).  They have full 50A/30A hookups/sewer/water, as well as climate controlled cabins and primitive camp sites.  The staff there are very friendly and have always been very accommodating to me in the past.

[In my best "Vince the Slap Chop Guy" voice imitation...]

BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE

Back by popular demand - ahead of the IBC weekend, VA's own oddsreven will hold her one day CPR cert/recert and trauma response class!  This will be a non-Appleseed event and will have its own coordination thread, but if you have the ability to attend, this event is WORTH YOUR TIME.  More details to follow soon, but I've discussed it with her and we're locked in!
--------------

Several of you have already signed up for the IBC - thank you so much!  If you haven't please consider doing so soon, so we can get a good count on food and other consumables we'll need to help make this a fantastic event!

Thanks for your consideration and hope to see you there!  More to follow soon!  O0
"5 minutes for this stage - that's like a week in people years!"

"Responsibility is a unique concept... You may share it with others, but your portion is not diminished. You may delegate it, but it is still with you... If responsibility is rightfully yours, no evasion, or ignorance or passing the blame can shift the burden to someone else. Unless you can point your finger at the man who is responsible when something goes wrong, then you have never had anyone really responsible."
― Hyman G. Rickover

"Scoring is a function of great execution, and winning Is the result, but thinking about winning can pull your focus off of proper execution in a competition. Thinking about process is the answer."- Lanny Bassham
