Eight students and six instructors faced typical west Texas heat and wind to celebrate liberty and preserve our heritage of marksmanship. Special thanks to the Midland Shooters Association for hosting, and to all the instructors for their hard work. Stories were told, targets were shot, and a tear or two was shed. And the mantra for the event was improvise, adapt, overcome!

What a great group of students and instructors! It turns out that none of us is as young as we used to be, and a variety of physical ailments and maladies made it impossible for most of this group to even come close to ideal positions and techniques...and they just dealt with it. Physically can't get into the prone position and still see through the scope? Work around it! Can't transition? Work around it! None of the sitting/kneeling options are possible (forget comfortable)? Work around it! Can't do this, or that, or the next thing? Work around it!

The positive attitudes, willingness to try, and sheer toughness these students showed was inspiring. And every single one continually improved their marksmanship throughout the entire weekend as they found ways to deal with their personal challenges.

Great job by everyone!
