It was a sweltering weekend at Logan's Ferry Sportsmens Club, but so many patriotic Americans came to learn about our heritage that the firing line literally overflowed.  As the sun beat down and temperature readings approached three digits the students worked hard to absorb the marksmanship fundamentals and history presentations.  Shooting in relays gave the students plenty of opportunities to seek out shade and stay hydrated.  The day ended with a Redcoat that showed some improvement in marksmanship skills, but also showed the effects of a long, hot day in the sun.

Sunday began with more history and a review of Steady Hold Factors before diving into the morning Redcoat.  It proved to be the last one of the weekend, because a storm front moved in in the early afternoon and ended our weekend prematurely.  Still, the AQTs that were completed during the weekend showed that most of the students had a good grasp of the marksmanship fundamentals.

Allen, RC and Shawn all cleared Redcoat targets.  This was a first for Allen, so he was duly inducted into the 1st PA Rifle Regiment.  Shawn took top honors for the weekend with a 218 and a 222, the only Rifleman scores shot.  Several other students were well into the Sharpshooter range and might have made it to Rifleman if Sunday had not been cut short.

Thanks to everyone for staying to help clean up the range!

Sounds like an awesome event for PA. Bummer for rain storms closing you down though. Congrats to those that earned patches!
