We had our first event at the brand new Jonesboro Shooting Sports Complex. To begin with they were extremely gracious and accommodating hosts. The range was perfect for our event. The weather cooperated, although there were threats of storms Saturday. All we got was, a much appreciated, strong tailwind most of Saturday.
We had 9 registered shooters with only 7 showing up with one walk-on. Every shooter was great and the attitudes were perfect.
Two (Jaime and Kevin) had previously attended an event and others were new to Appleseed.
The youngest (8), Sarah, has no quit in her and we all enjoyed spending time coaching her and despite the weather and other obstacles she pushed on the whole time she was there. Her dad, Bruce, push through the aches and pains of trying positions that aren't a part of the norm. Coryssia aka Rebel pushed hard through the weekend and her scores showed it, as she was shooting 180's and 190's once we started shooting AQTs. I gave her a lot of static because she is Comforts daughter and she took it well. Kevin and Josh (father and son) were both a joy to work with. Kevin struggled a bit but was more focused on Josh doing well. And Josh did great. After taking advise and using a loaner with a scope on Sunday, he proved that he had been paying attention to the instruction by earning a patch. Tim worked hard and finally nearing the end of the weekend earned his patch. Jaime who had attended a Winterseed event came back for the warmer weather and showed that once a Rifleman, always a Rifleman. I believe he shot at least 3 qualifying scores. He left with an offer of an orange hat and me hoping that some day he will accept. Mike, our walk on, didn't make it back for day two but showed steady progress and I'm sure he would have earned a patch. Hopefully he will return
Last but by no means least, our instructor cadre makes it worth the time and energy for me. Y'all are family and as usual did a fabulous job. Erik proved his worth by swapping his orange hat for a red one. Congratulations you worked hard for it.
I'm not sure I've ever had an event with such great people with great attitudes

Big thanks to the range Boss and all of the instructors! I had a great time watching them work with everyone. Really appreciate the history and the focus on our duties as Americans. Joshua and I talked about everything on our ride home. I encouraged him to bring some friends next time. We will be at the next one closer to Cabot.

I finally figured out how to use the app Imgur to upload 37 pictures.  Wow, they are full size.  I enjoyed the few comments I've read.  It was a great group and a fun 2 days with perfect weather.   Can't wait to see some of these new faces again, and as always, can't wait to see the old faces again!

Thank you to Jonesboro Sports Shooting Complex for hosting our event. I really enjoyed your range.
We had a great group on the line this weekend. Sarah took our instruction well but was very independent about prepping her magazines and making her rifle safe. She also did some awesome shooting.
Congratulations to Josh, Tim and Jaime for earning your Rifleman patches.
I especially enjoyed having my daughter on the line. She really surprised me with her persistence. With a blister on her elbow she persevered and almost earned her patch.
A big congratulations to Papasi for earning his Red Hat! Hoozah!!

Had a great time working this event, and it was made even better being in my backyard! I'm glad to hear Sarah and her Dad and our walk-on are planning to come back to our upcoming events.  I spoke to Jeremy tonight and filled him in on all of the weekend happenings and he's looking forward to getting the next Jonesboro date set up.

Here's to more fun in Jonesboro!

I sure had a good time with everyone. Thanks to our our awesome instructors for the education I received. I learned more than how to shoot better. I got a history lesson that I will always remember and I learned to share targets with my partners (sorry Kevin!). I will definitely attend another one and I can't wait to take the pistol Appleseed in the future!

What a great weekend!!! The Appleseed family grew this weekend and it was inspiring to see our young shooters doing an excellent job with their marksmanship and embracing our heritage. All of our shooters came with a great attitude and proved that a Rifleman persists by battling strong winds Saturday and honing their skills on a beautiful Sunday. Look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

Special thanks to the Jonesboro Shooting Sports Complex! The staff was great to work with and the range was well laid out. The weighted target stands provided by the range were greatly appreciated especially for battling against the winds on Saturday. Can't wait for the next event at this range!

I enjoyed the history stories and the marksman training. Thanks to the dedicated volunteers for coming to Jonesboro.

I have learned a lot and still learning. Looking forward to next event and also a pistol clinic in near future when available. Great group of people to hang out with and shoot with past weekend :D
