Placeholder. Details to follow

Saturday broke with overcast skies, driving rain (changing to ice periodically during the day), and a bitter wind. That didn't deter the five brave souls that joined us at Tucso for a fun weekend.
The morning redcoat showed that our returning shooters knew very well what they were about. Congrats to Scotty, a Dave, and Andrew on clearing.
We progressed through our points of instruction with Tim making leaps and bounds of improvement.

Chuck, Dave, Scotty, and Andrew scored on the Saturday aqt and received the coveted patriots weekend edition rifleman patch.

Sunday dawned clear and sunny, but alas the bitter wind hadn't abated. Our four veteran students returned and we got rolling. After a quick but complete review of our positional steady hold factors we rolled into the aqt grind. And our students did not disappoint with everyone requalifying multiple times. We finished with a four minute aqt to honor our visiting dSB.
Chico had the honor of leading us in the solemn memorial volley. We ended the day with our final redcoat with Chuck and Dave clearing.

Thank you to all our students for joining, please come again and bring a friend.
Thank you to our host, Tucso rifle club. A more gracious host Appleseed couldn't ask for.
Finally, thank you to Chico and Jiminbolivar for assisting me this weekend.

Oh yeah - that 4-minute AQT looked like it was a lot of fun . . .   :---

Unfortunately, some of us had to work !   :(

Dave K

Thanks so much to Dom, Jim, and Chico for another great Appleseed event!

The weather certainly made things interesting, but Andrew made the good point that 'Tyrrany doesn't wait for good weather'.

The Tusco rifle club were great hosts and the amenities were top notch. I look forward to doing a KD event out there in hopefully the not too distant future. The 600yd range out there looks like it would be a ton of fun.

It was great to share in the significance of an April Patriot's Day event with some familar faces from previous Appleseed events. The 4 minute AQT which was fun new challenge as well.

Finally, what an honor to participate in the Memorial Volley and special thanks to Chico for leading that with such passion.

Yeah I have to agree that the 4-minute AQT was a really cool variation. I don't think any of us shot a rifleman score on that AQT but it was alot of fun trying.
I don't always shoot AQT's, but when I do, I prefer iron sights.

Looks like a fun shoot despite the weather. Wish I could have made it up there to help out.

Charley

Sounds like a great event with lots of progress. Congratulations to our Rifleman!

Great looking targets Dave K!

Charles McKinley

A pleasant weekend at my favorite range.  My apologies for shooting Jim's target on stage 2.  When you can barely get into seated better double check your on the right target. :wb:

I scored on the 4 minute AQT. ;D

It was great seeing you all again.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery
