First, let me apologize for the delay in getting this After Action Report posted- the time monkey affects us all, even after the event!
On 10/2-10/3/2021, The Quarryville APPLESEED cadre hosted the last event for the year at SLCFSA. 15 PATRIOTS signed up, and showed up for the event!
After administrative duties were completed, we jumped right in with a REDCOAT target, and then instruction. I greatly appreciate the fact that we had 2 junior PATRIOTS attend, brought by their caring and forward-thinking Dad!
Things like steady hold factors for prone, seated/kneeling, and standing positions were taught, as well as the "6-steps" to firing the shot.
We proceeded with zeroing and further marksmanship lessons, such as cadence, NPOA, ball and dummy, and other important RIFLEMAN skills. The "First Strike of The Match" was conveyed to the group, paying homage to the brave 77 souls who mustered on Lexington Green, and helped ignite the fire of liberty in in the heart of our fledgling country.
A sample AQT was fired, giving the participants a feeling for what was to come Sunday. We finished with another REDCOAT target, and scores improved dramatically.
Evidently, the marksmanship lessons were taken to heart, and the gravity of the situation for those involved April 19th, 1775, was taking hold....

The second day continued, minus 1 shooter, whose work schedule unfortunately changed overnight. We completed admin duties, reviewed all we learned the day before, and proceeded to discuss the problems facing the RIFLEMAN, like target detection, range estimation, wind estimation, shooting uphill and downhill, and how the various shooting positions can be applied to the shooting problem. A review of IMC and talking targets helped to reinforce the topic, and questions were answered, During lunch, the 2nd and 3rd strike of the match were discussed, as well as dangerous old men and women. Our founders and those that participated in and led the events of April 19th, 1775, were certainly a breed  of men and women above others! The sacrifices they made for US, the untold millions of AMERICANS they would never meet, is staggering to think about.
After lunch, and at the strike of noon, we fired on more REDCOAT targets, and the first survey of the day was concluded. After that, some quick zeroing to make sure sights didn't move around the previous night was completed. Then, it was time for AQT's. In stages at first, the the "Rapid-Fire AQT". 7 AQT's were completed Sunday, And 2 rifleman scores were fired.
We ended the day with a final REDCOAT, and the reading of a letter from John Adams to US, his "POSTERITY".
A final question and answer session, range restoration, and a "thank you" to all of the participants was completed/conveyed.
A special thanks from me to the cadre is appropriate here. Even with all the stink bugs, they performed their usual, admirable best.

Bruce with a RIFLEMAN qualifying target, a 216. The smile says it all.....
Bruce fought with some eye relief problems all weekend, and was unable to move his optic around due to equipment issues.
He persisted and persevered to shoot RIFLEMAN, anyway!
Well done, Bruce!

The firing line for standing position. Those 100 yard targets don't stand a chance!
This is what AMERICAN PATRIOTISM looks like!
All ages, walks of life, you name it. That RIFLEMAN patch doesn't care where you come from, only that you can "step to the line", and perform!
There are many budding RIFLEMAN in this picture, very close to earning that august patch, and claiming the title, RIFLEMAN!

Bruce with another cleared REDCOAT target, and your ever-lovin' shoot boss hamming it up!
Bruce certainly had NPOA for most of his shots, and the ones that strayed, yet still scored, were from the eye relief problem his equipment was giving him.
Needless to say, he kicked this REDCOAT target's butt!
Hits count, and good shooting, Bruce!
