What a great Fall New England weekend for an Appleseed shoot! Ten motivated shooters chose to forego leaf-peeping and apple-picking for two days of marksmanship instruction and Revolutionary War history.  And some very cool shirts.  After the admin and safety briefs we shot our morning Redcoat, then got down to our Points-Of-Instruction, which took us until lunch.  We heard an outstanding rendition of the 1st Strike from FiremanBob, then proceeded to put all that instruction to use shooting AQTs interspersed with drills, We took a break to hear a rousing 2nd Strike from MattNH, then resumed our quest to vanquish the AQT, along with more drills.  Ball and Dummy was a group favorite, along with Happy Trigger.  We finished Saturday with a very effective telling of the 3rd Strike from IIT 300berg, a short talk from the Shootboss. then broke for the evening with the age-old advice for all shooters to practice their prone position while sleeping :).
The rain continued to hold off on Sunday, with 8 returning, freshly motivated shooters. After the safety brief, we got down to business shooting AQTs and doing drills until it was time to hear about Dangerous Old Men and Women - told exceptionally well by 300berg.  Some more shooting until lunch where Known Distance was taught by FiremanBob.  We did AQTs and drills until it was time to call it a day with the afternoon Redcoat and benediction.
Congratulations to 4 shooters who earned the rifleman patch, and to nhalan who stepped up to be NH's newest Instructor-In-Training (Thank you!). And to IITs ShooterJake, 300berg who passed their promotions!!  Great job to all instructors!
The shooters were all exceptionally safe, a pleasure to coach, and on behalf of the instructors and myself - thank you, hope to see you again soon, and remember - no matter where we are at in our journey as shooters and Americans: A rifleman persists.    Thanks again!!
