Attitudes are contagious. I hope mine is worth catching.

Oil Creek State Park in Oil City, PA host one in August each year.  They are part of a circuit mostly east of here.  Schedule never works out to go see it.  I gave up running decades ago.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

Very nice! Of course, it will take me all of 2022 to get fit and ammo'd up enough for this, but I love the goal!

A good friend of mine essentially re kindled these events in 2000 in Pecos, Texas with the Pecos Run & Gun. It has roots back into the 80s with the Kenyathalon that was brought about by Finn Aagaard, but in the "modern era" Pecos was the first.

I'm hitting the gym hard right now because it's only a month away now!

BTW,  Appleseed is strongly represented at these events with many, many, instructors and Riflemen who run the courses and compete.

Nice! I'm up in WIchita Falls; trying to get back into walking and acclimating to the heat. I won't make it this year, but next is an option.

I competed in the WTF Biathlon on 22 April 2023 and happily finished in the middle of the pack.  It was fun but really challenging and it did kick my butt.  Highly recommended to anyone to give it a try.

I'm trying to get in better shape for my next event, which means I'm reckoning with my current physical fitness, or lack thereof, in a way I haven't for awhile. These biathlons sound like a lot of fun, but realistically, I'm not ready to Run 'n' Gun. Can we have a Stroll 'n' Shoot? Maybe a Walk 'n' Blast? How about a Mosey 'n' Fire?
