A perfect Tennessee fall day greeted for the shooters at the Manchester Appleseed on the Arnold AFB Rifle Ranges.  After the first strike of the match presentation and a safety brief, 4 shooters, including two who flew in from Hawaii, fired the hits count target.

After a couple rounds of square targets and instruction we got in one AQT with two shooters knocking on the door.

On Saturday one shooter Deanna from Hawaii requalified as a Rifleman with a 218, then a 221 and a 226.  Jason a first time Appleseed attendee also shot Rifleman with a 215.  The other two shooters were knocking at the door.

Adam from Bowling Green Ky took an Orange hat

Very special thanks to the instructors that helped make this event a success.

Tennessee Beast

Tejaslady and I took pictures.  Of particular note is that we had a flock of turkeys visit the range.  Perhaps they heard me talk about Nancy Hart's prize turkey...not sure.

In giving us dominion over the animal kingdom, God has signified His will that we subdue the beast within ourselves.
John Lancaster Spalding

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, 1775

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."  George Washington 1790

"[T]o preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them…"
