This was a very special weekend for so many reasons.  Obviously the date brings extra meaning.  In addition, we had three generations!  A grandfather brought his son and several grandchildren.  They all did well and were highly motivated even though Saturday we had near record heat in the mid to upper 90's.

Several Riflemen were made this weekend.  A father and son made the journey from Wichita and the young man persevered the whole weekend and made Rifleman on Sunday afternoon!

Sunday was a beautiful day to exercise our Rights.  While it started out a little scary with thunderstorms surrounding the range, we only felt some cool breeze that threatened a few canopies and some sprinkles.  Then the skies opened up and gave us perfect weather to get many AQTs completed.

As a value added bonus, we had a guest instructor who traveled all the way from Michigan to help us.  Fidget brought that Michigan drive and delivered entertaining and moving Strikes 2 and 3.  She is a credit to the Michigan Cadre.

A special thanks to Larry and the Izzak Walton League www.lincolnikes.com for their continued support of Project Appleseed Nebraska.

My son and I were privileged to participate in last weekend's Appleseed. The knowledgeable and patient instructors made the long trip worthwhile. If you're interested in American history and improving your marksmanship, I recommend Appleseed very highly. Thank you shoot boss Vette73. You and your team gave my son an experience he will never forget.

This was an inspirational, skill building and ultimately very enjoyable experience. I say ultimately because Saturday's heat 'bout did me in.  But, perseverance is important.  We loved the experience, the Instructors, the fellow journeymen and especially seeing the lights come on in several young folk! We've been on our mats every other day or more practicing and look forward to our next event. Thank you!

There was an amazing Shoot Boss, instructors and students this weekend!  Students were interactive with the history, everyone had great attitudes! Weather changes made me fell at home with the heat on Saturday and cold front on Sunday! ;D We were blessed the storms just went north of us, there was some wind but we missed a major down pour! There was an extraordinary carved and painted American flag with the AS logo! It was a great weekend! I hope to see all the students join the cadre and see you all on the trail!

Doug - Great job getting rifleman! Great job with standing and with the extra weight of a bi-pod on the front of the rifle! (Cadre reading this: the Bi-pod was not used during the COF.)

Nicholas - you knew what you are about and succeed with your goal of getting rifleman! Awesome job!

Riley - Got rifleman and then scored Distinguished Rifleman! Great job! Going for the 250 patch next?  ;)

Paul & Helen - you are almost there, hope to see you next time!

George - great job assessing rifle issues and working thru them!

Steve - It was so awesome that you came up from Texas and brought your local family to an AS!

Tom - Great job this weekend, thank you for coming with the family!

Claudia, Jacob, Alex & Brandon - Dope job with the tech sites! Perfect practice makes perfect. Practice with your Dad/Uncle and Grandpa with those targets we sent home with you! Cannot wait to see you score rifleman!

;D
