Palm Bay, FL Pistol Clinic Jun 19-20, 2021 AAR

Three words describe this event. Hot, safe, and fun. We had a great group of shooters on board to celebrate Fathers' Day! Despite the heat index (104) they hung in to complete all the instruction objectives and exceed the ammo budget by 20%. We shot three PQTS on Saturday and seven on Sunday finding five Pistoleer™s among our eight students. Kevin, Dennis, and Derek cleared the Redcoat target. Awesome!

First-time shooter Joanna shot a 165 Marksman score and holds the distinction of most brass burns. She was careful to keep her pistol safe despite the assault of brass. Good job Joanna! Debbie (EpicQuilter) requalified with the high score for the weekend at 233. Her husband Dennis (Alarm Lister) shooting his high score of 231 proved the benefit of regular dry-fire since his last event by scoring for the first time at his second pistol clinic.

Brothers Kevin and Craig turned in 220 and 210 respectively. They were accompanied by their father Brian who repeatedly shot Sharpshooter scores. With some dry fire at home, Brian will surely achieve Pistoleer™ at his next event. Derek also brought his father Ron to the event. Derek scored an impressive 225. Ron found the skills challenging and needs more time with the basics.

Thanks to our instructors for making it a safe and enjoyable weekend. Special thanks to ScubaSteve and LadyGator for driving over from Lakeland to assist. Denise is now an AC/RSO and a valuable member of the team. MadScientist (Greg) came over from Sanford to lend a hand. SWOFO (Ray) served on Saturday. Sieggie (Dave) did a superb job as our Lineboss for the weekend. Thanks to the Port Malabar Rifle & Pistol Club for generously allowing us the use of the range. HUZZAH!

Hot is an understatement this past weekend for Pistol Clinic.  But nonetheless it was super fun to attend.  Congrats to all that shot Pistoleer™ Scores.  But mostly congrats to everyone for sticking with it through the grueling heat index of 104.   We hope to see everyone again at another event once it cools off a bit.  Thank you to the amazing instructors who always keep it fun.
