Wow!  What an event!  Thanks to my fellow instructors for making the event nearly effortless.

Congratulations to all the New Riflemen and the Renewed Riflemen and of course our Riflewoman Sara.  Huzzah!  well done all.

Thanks to Fenton Lakes Sportsmen for hosting the event.  We could not do this without your support.  And thanks Andy for your help.

The weekend seemed to fly by and Sunday was a bit sad watching everyone drive off.  We made so many new friends and had a chance to spend time with old friends.

I hope to see each of you again soon, on the Appleseed trail. Don't forget to bring 14 more people with you.

fun  ^:)^ and successful shoot ! New rifleman, orange hats and TL got her red hat.  Good times.
During the seventy years which elapsed between the overthrow of the Stuart dynasty and the victory of Wolfe on the Heights of Abraham, the relations between the American colonies and the British government were, on the whole, peaceful; and the history of the colonies, except for the great and romantic struggle with New France, would have been almost destitute of striking incidents. In view of the perpetual menace from France, it was clearly unwise for the British government to irritate the colonies, or do anything to weaken their loyalty; and they were accordingly left very much to themselves. Still, they were not likely to be treated with any great liberality,â€"for such was not then, as it is hardly even yet, the way of governments...

A wonderful weekend, couldn't have asked for better weather.
A great group of shooters, and my first patriot's weekend Appleseed.

I'm definitely taking this weekend off from now on.

Patriots Weekend is always a good time, but this weekend was one of the best ever.

We had just about everything you could possibly want in an Appleseed: great weather, wonderfully attentive students, fascinating history, 5 new or re-qualifying Riflemen, a Memorial Volley with both an M1A and an AR on the line,  the crowning of a new Red Hat, and the acceptance of an Orange Hat by a very impressive shooter who qualified on every AQT he shot with his bolt action.

It was wonderful to see some familiar faces on the line. Juan - keep working on your transitions and you will be there soon. Austin - I know how frustrating these weekends can be when the patch is so close. All I can tell you is it will happen. You have the skills, not it's just a matter of putting everything together. I assure you, you will get there soon.

To everyone else I had the pleasure to instruct this weekend, thank you for making my job so easy. Practicing your mag changes at home will help smooth things out and save you valuable time. And please, please, please, remember that being the first person to finish shooting on stage 4 of the AQT is NOT the goal. We give you 5 minutes, so why not take all 5 minutes.

Lastly, to my favorite sniper LJ, you can man a window in my house anytime  :snipersmi

I look forward to seeing you all on the line again soon.

I love Patriots' Weekend at Project Appleseed! 3 years ago my husband and I did our first shoot as students on Patriots' Weekend here at Fenton and my life hasn't been the same since then!
This weekend was amazing in so many ways!

What a fantastic group of shooters! I saw so much progress by just tweaking little things. I just love watching people's faces light up when they go downrange and see how their groups just keep getting smaller and smaller!

Congrats to all the rifleman, new and old! I'm so excited that I got to baptize one of my best friends on his first Rifleman Score --- 210! Way to go! To those of you who are knocking at that door, keep knocking! Rifleman persevere! Ammo-free mag changes and dry firing doesn't cost a thing. Practice the 6 Steps to Firing a Shot and finding that NPOA! Come back to another Appleseed event and bring a friend. Show them what you've been practicing and how it pays off  ;)

The history this weekend was simply amazing. I didn't want the stories to end! I was never interested in history until my 1st Appleseed event! But after hearing what it took for a bunch of farmers and blacksmiths to gain and maintain the rights we enjoy today...WOW! I am forever grateful to them and I hope we all pass down the importance of maintaining those freedoms to our fellow Americans and our children.  :F Like Ronald Regan said, it isn't 'passed down in the bloodline'... so someone's gotta do it! Let it be us!

Also......
I got my Red Hat!!!  ^:)^ I'm still in shock... I didn't dream it, did I??  ???

Wanted to thank ALL the instructors for putting on a great event. The organization and planning at an Appleseed event is always impressive, especially considering its entirely volunteer efforts. The instruction was great, and the history even better! TL, Congrats on that Red Hat! Looking forward to seeing everyone again and working the line with you. Thanks for the invite to join the Cadre. I'm excited to give back to such an amazing program.
