I just heard some info about the flag I wanted to share.

The artist (Cheri Jensen) of the latest Gold Backs released for the state of New Hampshire feature the pine tree and the flag An Appeal to God on it. The tree is the eastern white pine tree. The colonists wanted them for construction of their homes. The british navy wanted them due to their length and straightness for construction of masts on their ships. In 1743 the tensions rose and the british had cut the trees down and taken them. So the colonists dressed as native americans, cut the mains and tails off of the british horses, and took their trees back!

Oh I'm sorry, I got the year wrong. It was 1772, known as the Pine Tree Riot
