On February 11 met up with Mary Cobb, an AppleCore Volunteer from Alamogordo, to return her rifle to her. She had asked me to help make it more useful for her. She also wanted to try a new MagPul RLS sling. So, we shot a Red Coat some squares and two AQTs to warm up for the following weekend's Appleseed event. On her first AQT she turned in a 189 and we were both excited for her performance. So, we had time and shot a second, before her babysitter went off the clock. We adjusted the cheek padding on her stock and she got busy.
Well Mary buckled down and shot like she meant business. We shot an adaptive appleseed and she turned in a score of 210!!!! Talk about excited!
After discussion with the State coordinator and the DSB for the weekend event and showing all the other attendees for the shoot, Mary Cobb was presented with her Rifleman's patch. What a great way to open the weekend event.
